This Article[edit]

I think this article really needs to be improved, it appears to have been written by someone who dislikes Dimbleby. Every career achievement is undermined by some trivial irrelevant matter, for example, "Robin Cock" and the Mars bar incident. These are not career-defining incidents. And the date of birth is SO wrong !!!! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Markierobbo (talkcontribs) 11:54, 21 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

More info is needed on Dilys - his mother. I noticed in IMDB it was mentioned "whatever happened to her" she was so great as a young child actress, such great acting, and such life in her character. She is hardly mentioned in any article I have seen, is she still alive? I read she was now 95 - it would be great to know more about her thoughts now, if her health is still good. It would be great to see her on Turner Classic Movies with Jack Osborne, if I have the name right. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Appledude1 (talkcontribs) 10:52, 7 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Dimbleby was of course wrong in speaking of a decision in 1975 of the British people to JOIN the Common Market. That decision was taken in 1972 by the ratification of the European Communities Bill. The UK joined the EEC (as it then was) on 1 January 1973. The 1975 referendum invited people to vote - YES or NO - on whether they wished the UK to remain a member. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 51.6.55.75 (talk) 21:13, 15 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Republican activist?[edit]

Alamy has some photographs of a protestor at Commonwealth Day who looks strikingly like him - albeit very gaunt in the face compared to how he looked a few years ago when he was on television more regularly. Is this him? The Alamy caption doesn't explicitly confirm him as the former BBC presenter but it would be a very strange coincidence. Robin S. Taylor (talk) 00:41, 30 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
