Turn towards the mainstream[edit]

The sentence about Green turning towards the mainstream is a little deceptive in that it lumps Pineapple Express with East Bound and Down. While Pineapple Express was a blockbuster, East Bound and Down is not exactly well known or successful. A more accurate statement would be a turn towards comedy. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.27.2.130 (talk) 23:21, 27 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Cleanup[edit]

This article has turned into a mess, specifically around the time it was split up into subheadings. I'm going to pare it down some until someone can do some real research on this guy, with actual citations. For instance, I don't see any reason for the critique section, which has no citation. It's useless in an article unless someone backs it up. Input welcome... --nathanbeach 16:38, 2 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I cleaned it up and bit and straightened out the filmography at bit with imdb. I finally got rid of Secret Life of Bees because I can't find any factual support for it, although I think it seriously was in consideration at one point. Similarly, A Confederacy of Dunces. Input welcome. I'm not sure who all works on this article. --nathanbeach 17:25, 2 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The paragraph about A Confederacy of Dunces can afford a bit of a cleanup. At the moment it's something like a glorified cast list. I'd be willing to make those changes unless NathanBeach objects. 134.69.170.215 (talk) 23:02, 3 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No objection! --nathanbeach 14:32, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Eric Doogan[edit]

I'm fairly certain he wasn't born "Eric Doogan", but have no concrete evidence. Anyone? Nathan Beach 20:13, 13 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The only mention of him being "Eric Doogan" is Wikipedia and one mirror site. I've deleted it. Stu ’Bout ye! 08:24, 14 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
This name was added again today. I've deleted it again, the only websites to mention "Eric Doogan" are wikimirrors and a couple of discussions forums, which question why Wikipedia is claiming this. David Gordon Green is his real name. Stu ’Bout ye! 09:22, 23 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hey - I guess we'll just keep reverting the page. A friend of mine has been close friends with Green since elementary school and that's definitely not his birth name (I asked). It's probably David or one of his friends making the changes. Anyways, happy late Bloomsday/birthday, Stu... Nathan Beach 16:43, 23 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cheers Nathan, didn't see your message until now. While I do believe you, there doesn't seem to be any sources (on the Internet at least) to verify that. Could you ask him to mention his real name in a reliable source! Stu ’Bout ye! 08:03, 29 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah -- it's definitely not -- so, um, I agree with you... :o) Nathan Beach 15:56, 30 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Compliance[edit]

Would it be relevant to add something about David Gordon Green connection to Compliance, the film by Craig Zobel? The director is a frequent collaborator of his (having worked on several of Green's films) and Green was an executive producer on Compliance. It made quite a stir at Sundance in 2012 and various other festivals for its disturbing nature, and is based on the true events of the Strip Search Prank Call Scam committed at fast food restaurants across the United States from 1992 - 2004 by David Stewart. I'm not a very experienced editor or particularly confident with adding new content, so if this is worth adding please go ahead! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Plus Qu'hier (talkcontribs) 23:01, 19 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

What he said about Kevin Smith and Denzel Washington[edit]

So yeah, back in 2001 he said this in a article about Kevin Smith and that one Denzel Washington movie.<austinchronicle.com/screens/2001-02-23/fighting-words/> I think this should be included. 165.73.225.157 (talk) 21:03, 28 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Date of birth[edit]

The article says where he was born but not when. It should. 38.49.92.241 (talk) 19:17, 17 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
