Contested deletion[edit]

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because he is's published many Christian themed books over 20 years, published articles in prestiges Christian journals, and opened sessions of Congress and the Texas State Legislature with prayer --RedRaiderApache (talk) 11:13, 29 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

How are NBC, C-SPAN, the Baptist Press, and the Dallas Voice not independent, verifiable references? I've read BIO. How is his notability any different from D. L. Dykes, Jr. He's a major figure in East Texas politics and culture as well as in the Southern Baptist circles. He's given invocations for Congress at least twice! -RedRaiderApache (talk) 12:01, 29 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Where exactly are those references? In order to be included in Wikipedia the article must meet Wikipedia defined criteria for notability. reddogsix (talk) 12:05, 29 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
A C-Span video of Dykes giving an opening prayer to the US house poster by the official youtube Channel of Rep. Louis Gohmert (TX-1 R) is reference 9.
A post about his opening the Texas State Legislature in prayer is reference 10.
You caught me midway through my edits with the speedy delete, the other references haven't been added yet because I stopped editing the page until I know its safe, but are linked above. Every link on this page was a ref going into the article. I think he does meet the BIO criteria. -RedRaiderApache (talk) 12:14, 29 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
