Untitled[edit]

This article has been chopped to pieces in recent weeks, why? There is now NOTHING about his commentary career, not even the basic facts of who he has worked for.--MartinUK (talk) 12:34, 17 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'll have a look. As for his Jewishness, this is well known. He has been involved in numerous Jewish cultural events and frequently written for the Jewish Chronicle. Why do we need a quote from Pleat himself explicity stating his Jewishness. At the very least, how about "Pleat has been involved in Jewish cultural events[1] and has worked for the Jewish Chronicle[2]"--MartinUK (talk) 15:28, 17 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

How is what I added excessive or poorly-cited? When Saturday Comes is one of the most adored football magazines, the quote came from a positive article about him, and you've removed the bare details of his career plus his after-dinner speaking, for no apparent reason.--MartinUK (talk) 16:08, 17 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I am unclear as to your exact question? I am guessing but perhaps it was not the article but the comments that you inserted with the citation, again, I can see this is important to you so the blp board Wikipedia:Biographies_of_living_persons/Noticeboard is the place for you to ask about this. To clear up about the after dinner speaking link here that you inserted was a advertising site and a place to book him as a speaker and with prices, so I removed it as an advertising link. Off2riorob (talk) 16:31, 17 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough about the after-dinner speaking, but criticisms in reliable sources are accepted on Wikipedia, according to my understanding of the policy. We've removed the allegations about his private life, which is debatable in itself if sources can be found, but I'm surprised that the existance of negative opinion about his commentary is a problem--MartinUK (talk) 20:52, 17 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
