I'm not the one who proposed the merger, but I've started this section anyway. Comparing the current article to the draft, there's not very much that can be added from the draft into this article, except perhaps more of the quote from the UNFPA or Dr Natalia Kanem. Vinice Mabansag[edit]

The earliest claim I can find for Vinice being designated as the "eight billionth baby" comes from GMA News, but it doesn't say who designated her as such. The earliest claim I can find for Vinice Mabansag being designated by the United Nations specifically comes from The Sun (known to be unreliable). The UNFPA has previously stated its refusal to give official status to any such designation for the seven billionth baby.

In short, while I agree that Vinice may have been designated as the "eight billionth baby" by some organisation (maybe the Philippines' POPCOM?), I neither convinced that that organisation was the UN, nor that there are any reliable sources to back up that assertion.
