Fair use rationale for Image:Daytona bike week 2006 official logo.png[edit]

Image:Daytona bike week 2006 official logo.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Biketoberfest[edit]

There is a second biker event in Daytona Beach, named "Biketoberfest", usually held the weekend following Columbus Day (in October). Should Biketoberfest have its own article, or be added to Daytona Beach Bike Week? I'm a resident in Daytona Beach and have photos to organize and upload. Jaco beach bike event[edit]

the last sentence in the introduction is unrelated to the rest of the article and appears to be little more than an advertisement for this motorcycle event —Preceding unsigned comment added by 32.131.177.242 (talk) 15:23, 14 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. I removed it. --TimTay (talk) 15:44, 14 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Motor vehicle deaths per year removed[edit]

I removed the number of motor vehicle deaths per year table, because of a lack of notability. Given the approximated attendance of 500.000 and 61.000 inhabitants I adjusted the number accidents to 100.000 people per year, resulting in the following numbers:

year deaths nation avg
2000 97.59 14.86
2001 39.04 14.81
2002 84.58 14.95
2003 6.50 14.78
2004 ? 14.63
2005 ? 14.72
2006 130.12 14.31
2007 52.05 13.70
2008 45.54 12.31
2009 45.54 11.05
2010 32.53 10.65
2011 39.04 10.39

I could not find specific statistics for summer days in Daytona Beach (which would probably be higher than the nation average) to further support the lack of notability, but given the crowdedness and number of vehicles per square kilometer, the elevated number of vehicle deaths hardly diverges from random sampling. If you'd like to include the table, please mention why it is notable. --Pereant antiburchius (talk) 10:51, 25 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Notability is the standard Wikipedia uses to determine whether or not to keep an article topic. Notability does not limit content within articles. Please read WP:NNC.

Your opinion that the rate of deaths is not extraordinary is just that. Your opinion. On the other hand, the opinion of several news editors is that the number of rider deaths is worth reporting. Given that your analysis of the rate of deaths is not supported by an independent, expert research, we have to decide whose opinion to go with. Reliable sources, or one editor. So. --Dennis Bratland (talk) 15:30, 25 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Deaths[edit]

Why does this article have a special table and section dedicated to deaths? To me, this violates WP:UNDUE and it needs some kind of justification as to why it's needed here. It's a motorcycle rally, not a mass shooting. EnPassant♟♙ (talk) 20:19, 6 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
