Talk:Dazzle Vision

I believe that I have used notable sources from not only the band's website but other sites that also look into this kind of music. I also provided links to interviews with the band, much like any other artist's page. The goal of Wikipedia is to provided a source in which to grow useful knowledge form all parts of the world. Dazzle Vision is also gaining a American audience, and I think its the time for Dazzle Vision to have a Wikipedia on the english site, not just the Japanese site. I have shown them playing in a concert in the united states, I cited the Sakura-Con website itself showing the band playing in Seattle, WA in 2010. I have also included an interview with the band by Kay of JaMe world, a music publishing website and magazine that focus on the Japanese music scene. I have included several links to the band's website, and to HMV's website where the band charted for their album Crystal Children, also mentioned by the interview with JaMe world. I also have the written consent of the band itself to create a Wikipedia page and provided me information to create such a page. KaseyVincent (talk) 23:14, 29 March 2012 (UTC)

I have read the page, provided evidence that dazzle vision has traveled to the united states, a country other than japan, to play, have charted in japan's indie scene, has released more than two albums on a major record label, have been broadcasted through japan through radio and music television, and documented that they have a notable sound different from the rest of the bands in its genre range. The only thing i can't show you is that they won a Grammy or an award, and if my article is called into question because of that then I will nominate several other pages because those artist have not received awards either. I did however included several articles in which that band was interview, but have used them only to support either something that was said about the band's style or to give more proof that Dazzle Vision came to the US. I never used the interviews as a reference to the bands history, opinion on the bands status in the music world, or anything like that. I know that as a Wikipedia editor that I must provid a unbiased view on all articles written. Continued Work on Dazzle Vision Page

I have added some more sources, And I think I could add more, but before that, I want to know about the status of the page. I had Jeraphine Gryphon (talk) help me in figuring out the reliability of notability of my sources and I want the page deemed OK by Wikipedia Standards. It's not so much that you need more sources, it's that you need better sources. The current ones most seem like some random websites. In articles about real bands those kind of sources aren't used at all. If you look at the sources used on AFI for example: AFI_(band)#References, you'll see sources like Billboard, Allmusic, Yorkshire Evening Post, Altpress, The Sydney Morning Herald, Rolling Stone, The Boston Globe -- so-called "real" newspapers and magazines are those that undeniably qualify as 'reliable sources' by Wikipedia standards. Coverage in those reliable sources will mean that a band is 'notable' by WP standards.

Now I totally understand that since Dazzle Vision isn't that famous and is also from Japan, we won't exactly have a plethora of that kind of sources. BUT -- it should still be possible to find some sources that really qualify as reliable and that talk about the band in length (not just passing mentions). To see an example, just yesterday I created an article for the singer Iiris. She barely just had her first album out and Americans don't write about her at all, but if you'll look at the article's sources you'll see that several of the sources themselves have articles on Wikipedia, meaning they most likely qualify as reliable sources.

I understand. With the excepted on the interviews and from facebook, most of my sources come from music agencies and news site along with the official band website. As you may know, Japan does not have Billboard or anything like that. They have Oricon which is similar to Billboard but does not chart Heavy Metal bands or anything like that. The sources that I've used are from Businesses and new agencies that are reputable and have been used on similar pages like dazzle vision. They might have been taken down by now if you view them as non reliable but last time I check they were still up. KaseyVincent (talk) 22:47, 31 March 2012 (UTC)

Improving the Article

Read about your plight in the tea house, not sure how notable the band is mainstream, but it appears pretty notable within its own culture. Anyway search google news for them and they popped right up so gave you another reference.---Zeroyon01 (talk)
