Citation needed misuse[edit]

Why are there citation needed stamps everywhere when the same person has deleted all the references that was there? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.251.244.9 (talk) 05:46, 19 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • The citations removed were self-published and unreliable sources. See WP:RS and WP:SPS. Best regards, Cindy(talk) 11:35, 21 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
    • The citations which include IMDB.com, http://www.bizcommunity.com/Article/196/429/88909.html, Lost Boys blu-ray commentary, how do they fall under self-published or unreliable? Also the film credit for Black Sails was removed yet Nagel is listed on the official Black Sails cast list on IMDB? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Actor lover (talkcontribs) 09:44, 23 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
      • Let's take it step-by-step. First, IMDb is not considered an independent or reliable source, since the content is user-generated. We choose instead to use the content as an external link. The bizcommunity.com source is still there as an external source. If the source supports content in the article, you are free to add it as such. the "Lost Boys blu-ray commentary" was merely a wikilink to another article. Note that we do not use other Wikipedia articles as citations. As for the remaining citations:
  1. Source does not mention the subject or support claims made in the article.
  2. Not enough information has been provided to allow other editors to verify the content.
  3. Source does not mention the subject or support claims made in the article.
  4. Source does not mention the subject or support claims made in the article.
  5. Source is a mere track listing and cannot be used to support notability.
Please take a look at the guidelines for reliable and independent sources, along with the notability guidelines for musicians. The edits made to this article were to provide some visual guidance to (hopefully) support and/or indicate the notability of the subject. In all honesty, we've come up short. The only independent source that even mentions the subject is the bizcommunity.com content, but the article is about the play and only minimally mentions the subject. We need significant coverage about Nagel. At this point, the subject fails notability in accordance with the guidelines for musicians and actors. Our only hope is to find significant coverage in reliable and independent sources that are independent of the subject. Outside of that, the article may likely be deleted. Thoughts?
