The sentence on cholesterol/phospholipid ratio was kept however there was no strict source found which stated this information. However, the Nixon paper added as a reference to the article suggested the release of cholesterol plays a role in supporting capacitation. In addition, I looked into the sentence "In vitro incubation of DF with uterine fluids has been reported to have failed to destroy DF activity." from and found support for the ability to destroy DF activity through amylase from the Dukelow paper.
