Low quality article.[edit]

Senator McCarthy was not a member of the House UnAmerican Activities Committee - Senators are not members of House committees. Also the article just ASSUMES that Senator McCarthy was wrong - "infamous" speech and so on. As such works as "Blacklisted By History" have made clear, what people such as this lady thought were nice moderates were actually dedicated Marxists who wanted to exterminate tens of millions of Americans and enslave the rest.176.252.94.34 (talk) 20:53, 16 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Read again -- it doesn't say that McCarthy was a member of HUAC. And unfortunately McCarthy's idea of anti-Communism was to arrogate to himself the privilege of randomly and indiscriminately blighting reputations and destroying careers at arbitrary whim. This wasn't clear to the general public in 1950, but became so by 1954... AnonMoos (talk) 00:21, 19 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
