Delhi Herald Pictures[edit]

From the William Peyton talk page:

I seem to recall an article from a Coat of Arms last year by Peter O'Donoghue that dealt with the Delhi Herald. It might have had a picture of Peyton in tabard which should be in the public domain. I'll check that after work today. If anyone else gets that magazine, they might also check in case I can't find mine.--Eva bd 13:24, 23 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, Eva, that's a good piece of recollection. If there is such a picture, it would be excellent to have it. Xn4 18:11, 23 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I found the article. It does contain photos of Mohammed Umar Hayat and Peyton from the 1911 Durbar. I would think those would be in the public domain. It also had a photo of Osmond Barnes, who served as the Chief Herald (without the title of Delhi Herald) for the 1876 Imperial Assemblage. This should definitely be PD. I didn't get a chance to scan them last night, but will try when I get home from work today.--Eva bd 13:34, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

English Herald?[edit]

Would Delhi herald have been an English office of arms as the article states? It seems that the office would have been an office of the Emperor of India, and not the King of England. --Eva bd 03:26, 18 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
