This ranch is in the book Battleborn[edit]

This ranch is the setting in the 40-page short story “The Past Perfect; The Past Continuous; The Simple Past” within the book Battleborn by Claire Vaye Watkins. The manager, “Manny”, is an important character in the story. I don’t know if this kind of information is worth mentioning in the article, or how true-to-life the short story is. – Rory O'Kane (talk) 23:11, 22 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I think so. Generally this goes in a section like In popular culture or 'In fiction'. Vegaswikian (talk) 00:51, 23 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

BLP Noticeboard[edit]

Hi, I am a volunteer at the BLP Noticeboard. I am still reviewing the article and history. Let me take a look at the issue. -97.126.235.119 (talk) 02:28, 19 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I think the tag is appropriate concerning the notability of this establishment. Not sure it is deserving of an article on its own. It looks like this content could merge into the subjects article, but those editors would have to review the material. I am removing the disputed content as per BLP. Please contact the editors of the article this incident refers to and discuss and try to gain consensus with them on the best place for the content. 97.126.235.119 (talk) 02:33, 19 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
If you feel this article should be deleted for notability reasons, feel free to either tag it (already done years ago) or AfD it. As for the Odom content, how exactly does WP:BLP stipulate this heavily sourced content from major worldwide sources be removed? --Oakshade (talk) 03:21, 19 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with the removal of the content, but I too am confused by IP 97's reasoning. And, Oakshade, the heavy media coverage of the Odom incident is irrelevant because that's not the concern. Obviously, it's a highly notable incident, but the question is whether or not content about a celebrity incident should also be included in the article of the place where the incident happened to occur. I say absolutely not. As I said in the other discussion, if, hypothetically, Oprah Winfrey has a massive heart attack at a notable Las Vegas restaurant, should that info be included in the article of the restaurant (in addition to Winfrey's)? To me, it seems ludicrous and appears as nothing more than trivia. That's why I believe the content should only be included in the article of the celebrity. Lots of celebrity incidents happen at lots of places, but those incidents are about the celebrity, not the place. Czoal (talk) 03:50, 19 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
