The result of the move request was: both moved, but chose Derek Holland (activist) in the name of WP:NPOV. Favonian (talk) 18:29, 13 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

– The baseball player is clearly the person with this name who is of greater interest, and more searched for. Epeefleche (talk) 06:46, 6 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support moving the European. Either replace with dab page or baseball player. 70.24.247.61 (talk) 13:19, 6 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment. It would be nice if this were done ASAP, as the ballplayer is in the midst of the baseball playoffs, and searches for him are at an unusually high level. Thanks.--Epeefleche (talk) 16:39, 6 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. The ballplayer gets at least 3-4 times the pageviews. I'm slightly concerned that "neo-Nazi" might not be NPOV; "activist" might be a better qualifier, but that shouldn't hold up a move as it can always be changed later. I should also point out that each article has over 100 incoming wikilinks, the majority of which appear to be correct for each person. The ones pointing to Derek Holland would all have to be switched if a move takes place. Station1 (talk) 16:43, 7 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
    • Agree that neo-nazi might not be the best qualifier. If (or rather when) the move occurs, I think it is more important to fix the current incoming links before fixing links for the baseball player. Perhaps the move could be completed in two stages -- first move Derek Holland to whatever new title is acceptable and fix all incoming links to Derek Holland. Then move the baseball player. I see less urgency to fixing the incoming links for the second move as a redirect will get readers to the correct page. olderwiser 17:00, 7 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
      • Completely agree. Station1 (talk) 17:35, 7 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
        • I think it far more important that there be a move, as Station says, than what the qualifier is (fyi -- I was the one who proposed the original qualifier). So feel free to move it (hopefully, ASAP, as the next playoff game for the ballplayer starts shortly) to whatever qualifier you like. The key, I think, is to have it so that when the ballplayer has his next game, those searching for him do not end up: first finding the "activist", then going to the disambig page, and only then arriving where most of them want to be in the first place. Tx.--Epeefleche (talk) 18:39, 7 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
          • I changed the hatnote on Derek Holland so at least readers can skip the dab page. Most move requests are open at least 7 days, though, and there's a backlog, so I don't know how fast this will close. Station1 (talk) 19:59, 7 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Cleaned up the "Twitter controversy" section[edit]

First, "Twittergate" is an inappropriate title, given it's "Watergate" connotations, and the fact that it hasn't been shown that Holland actually did send the offensive tweet. Second, there were a lot of extraneous details, opining, and weasel words that I removed. If the section is going to exist, it needs to be a basic recounting of the facts as they are known right now. For example, comparing this to what Rep. Weiner did in sending pictures of his genitals out through Twitter is just absolute nonsense. LHM 01:45, 8 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
