The company appears to have dropped its unconventional capitalization. 24.92.241.215 05:05, 30 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

How to cite[edit]

There have been several edits recently that had jumbled citations, so here's how to do it:

  • From a Post-Standard Article: <ref>{{cite news |first= |last= |title= |url= |work=[[The Post-Standard]] |date=[[YYYY-MM-DD]] |accessdate=YYYY-MM-DD }}</ref>
    • First name of author, last name of author, title of article, URL (if taking it from online)... Then the date in year-month-day format (both for the article date and the date you accessed it)
  • From Syracuse.com's Destiny Updates: <ref>[URL Headline] - Syracuse.com Destiny USA Updates</ref>
    • There's simply a space between the URL and the headline

Latest Update[edit]

I'm in the Center at the moment where they had the event. There is no source to this one because it was me who was the primary source to this event. --Zero Serenity 23:03, 27 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Article needs updating and revision[edit]

I updated some info, corrected inaccuracies, and tried to filter out some bias in the introduction, but quickly realized I was biting off more than I really wanted to chew. Did my best with the intro, but the entire article needs some retooling, particularly the ugly timeline. Also, I left out the "Salina 29" portions since Pyramid has since dropped its request for eminent-domain in regards to the Technology Park in Salina - - that info may deserve a place in the article since it is historical background especially to the animosity that the project has stirred, but it no longer belongs in the introduction. If anyone feels up to doing some more work here, please feel free to do so, otherwise I will try to make time. Mdeaton 22:09, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Going to give this article a makeover[edit]

I'm not sure if the detailed history is even still relevant but if we are to keep it, it will need its own article, while the main article would focus on the actual center that's supposed to officially open in 2012 (it partially opened this month). We'll somehow need to find a balance between the hopes and aspirations of the $20 billion vision and the 1.3 million square feet that are actually going to open. -newkai t-c 23:20, 19 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Assuming Carousel Center + the 1st phase of the expansion are renamed Destiny USA in Spring 2012, I believe we should break out all the plans and history into a new article entitled something like Destiny USA Project and use Destiny USA for the opened mall. -newkai t-c 00:23, 20 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I ended up moving much of the history, including failed side projects and the timeline to History of Destiny USA. I then wrote a brief summary on the main page itself. Now when the entire complex is named Destiny USA (supposed to happen in the next few months) we just need to merge Carousel Center in. Some of the detailed history of Carousel can go into the Destiny history page then as well. -newkai t-c 04:12, 21 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Both of the above-referenced articles now merged into this one. In its current form, a lot of history but thin on anything else. Plenty of room for further development! DA Sonnenfeld (talk) 10:18, 1 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Image(s) needed[edit]

The one image currently in this article is ~7 yrs. old, from the Carousel Center era. New image(s) needed... Thanks, DA Sonnenfeld (talk) 09:49, 7 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Image added from 2013 (thank you!), but more would further enhance the article. Both historical and contemporary would be useful. Thanks, DA Sonnenfeld (talk) 10:16, 1 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Addressing Deaths During Construction[edit]

Growing up in CNY, I heard rumors time and time again that someone was killed during construction on the original Carousel Mall. Looks like a gentleman named Shawn Crowley did, in fact, die from electrocution while working on the project. I couldn't find anything else about deaths or serious injuries related to the mall's construction, so I'm unsure if this is the person in question.

Some people love their conspiracy theories, so they say that the mall purposely kept it under wraps to avoid bad publicity. Any thoughts? Urban-Yote (talk) 11:40, 28 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Urban-Yote That's crazy! I never knew about this. Star77777777 (talk) 00:51, 1 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Closures[edit]

Closures should be removed as they become increasingly more irrelevant quickly what do you think? Incredible93 (talk) 22:25, 13 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I'll let the others comment on the closures, but there is no reason to remove (as you did) the mention of its financial difficulties. M.Bitton (talk) 23:27, 13 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Like closures, the financial position of the developer changes so frequently it does not seem worth mentioning in the malls article Incredible93 (talk) 01:10, 27 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
