I do not think this should be merged. The Detroit Tigers page is already quite long. To avoid making the article unduly long, there is a "see also" section in the main Detroit Tigers page which includes links to this article and other similar articles/lists about various aspects of Detroit Tigers history. I really think the current set up, with a single main page for Detroit Tigers information, and "see also" links to pages such as this is best.

As for sources, all of the names in this article are cross-referenced to the articles on each individual player, which include source information. Also, each nickname is verifiable from one of the two major sources of information on MLB baseball players: baseball-reference.com and/or baseball-almanac.com
