An outlier[edit]

Outliers (book) explains why he has the ideal birthday for a Canadian hockey player. Had he been born a day earlier, his odds of making it as a pro would have been much reduced, as he would have had to compete against boys nearly a year older than himself at the young age when the coaches decide who has "talent", and thus who gets the extra ice time to practice and develop their skills. wbm1058 (talk) 20:58, 26 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
