map[edit]

It's nice to have a map from an authoritative source (the EPA), but by this point the map is out of date--it doesn't reflect the presence of didymo in New York, Vermont, and New Hampshire, for instance. Which would be better: To create our own adapted map that includes more recent data and could be continuously updated as the stuff spreads? Or to wait for EPA or some other reliable public-domain source to release an updated map for us? (There's a newer one at http://www.anr.state.vt.us/dec/waterq/lakes/docs/ans/lp_didnadistmap.pdf, for instance, which shows the presence of didymo in the Poconos and the Gaspe Peninsula.) 65.213.77.129 (talk) 13:50, 28 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
