Untitled[edit]

It's not a port. The one on the MSX and PC88 are games that are different from the one on the NES. MSX version plays more like an overhead action game rather than monster collecting.69.108.139.192 (talk) 05:55, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"Commonly known as "Shin Mega-Ten" by fans". Uh, what? I'm pretty sure "Shin" is only prefixed to the Shin Megami Tensei series, not the Digital Devil Story series. It seems whoever wrote this is confusing the fact that fans (in Japan, anyway) refer to Shin Megami Tensei games as "Shin DDS". Monster Collecting[edit]

Shouldn't there be a mention of this being the first "monster collecting" game? (ie Pokemon, Dragon Warrior Monsters, etc)

I've fixed the minor issues I've noticed, and list the rest here:

Gameplay
  • This section starts off with a description of the Famicom version, without it actually saying that that's what it is - I would start with a "The Famicom version is...", so it's clear that you're not describing something both versions have in common.
Synopsis
  • "Makai" doesn't mean anything to the average English-speaker. I would suggest either adding a short explanation, or using one of the common translations of the word used in localized Megaten games ("the Expanse" or "the Demon World" - the latter is probably clearer)
Development
  • Not exactly a big complaint, and nothing I'll fail the GAN over, but I would aim to avoid the choppy reading experience you get from The Atlus version was directed by Kouji Okada.[7] Sprite and promotional artwork was designed by Esaki Minoru.[9] The scenario's original elements were written by Kazunari Suzuki.[10][11] The music was composed by Tsukasa Masuko.[12] by combining them into one or two sentences.

  • Why does it say that The Untold History of Japanese Game Developers was published by Amazon.com? To my knowledge it was published by SMG Szczepaniak. I did not buy my copy on Amazon, though, so is this perhaps why it's different?
