Merge page with Directory-based cache coherence?[edit]

Is there a particular reason as to why this page is distinct from Directory-based cache coherence?

The two pages seem to provide complimentary information on the same topic so surely they should be combined into a single page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MaxCampman (talkcontribs) 12:04, 22 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Errors regarding origins of the directory-based coherence concept?[edit]

The history section states:

"However, applying it to cache coherence was proposed a few years later, specifically in 1978, when researchers at Stanford University proposed the first version of this coherence systems called Stanford DASH, in a paper[3] that described the system with the difficulties and improvements associated with such designs."

It is unclear where the year 1978 comes from. Work on the Stanford DASH had not begun until the late 1980s and also the paper about its directory-based coherence system was only published in 1990. Maybe this was mixed up with the "A New Solution to Coherence Problems in Multicache Systems" paper that was actually published in 1978 and was cited as reference in the DASH paper? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 131.188.6.14 (talk) 14:03, 25 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
