I'm not familar with the contents of the dispatcher's licence course, however I do not to believe that the aviation and meteorology content of the licence is comparable to that in the Airline Transport Pilot Licence. Indeed many countries do not even licence dispatchers. The Airline Dispatcher section seems POV to me.

Also, legally, the commander of an aircraft has full and final legal authority over a flight, so talk of 'sharing legal responsibility' is highly misleading: a dispatcher's legal authority over a flight is more comparable with a tug driver than with a pilot.

I also fail to see how dispatch is relevant to Air Traffic Control, hence have removed the section link.

This is different than Dispatcher because it's the facility or action whereas dispatcher is the person who performs the actions. I suggest a merge only if the articles are stubs or are too short as separate articles. User:David Jordan 11/16/2006.
