Lyantonde[edit]

Why is Lyantonde not numbered? Badagnani (talk) 02:03, 21 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Four Regions?[edit]

Are the four regions actual government subdivisions, or do they exist only for statistical purposes? Inkan1969 (talk) 20:02, 27 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • The regions are used by government institutions for administrational purposes (e.g by Uganda Police). --Ezeu (talk) 00:09, 28 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
    • Thanks. Do the regions have their own governments? Inkan1969 (talk) 22:34, 29 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
      • As far as I know, and from what I have read, the highest levels of local governance in Uganda are District Councils and City Councils. --Ezeu (talk) 23:45, 29 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Number of districts[edit]

Any change in the number of districts needs to come with an accompanying source. --NeilN talk to me 13:09, 28 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I found an updated URL for the first one. --Lasunncty (talk) 09:23, 13 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

New district?[edit]

@Pntege: Your recent edit implies that a new district was added in November 2020. Do you have a source for this? The new map still shows 135 (plus Kampala). --Lasunncty (talk) 09:44, 14 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@LasunnctyYes, click on the map and go to sources and you will see the source as UNHCR. And yes citation number 7 shows the Independent article where Parliament of Uganda approved creation of Terego District. The map shows all 136 districts. Hope this clarifies. Pntege (talk) 15:24, 14 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Terego was created in July 2020, not November. Also, Kampala is given a number in the map although it is not technically a district. --~~
