Diversey's West End[edit]

The information box states that the west end of Diversey is at Woodland Avenue in West Chicago. Viewed with Google Earth, Diversey as a continuous road with its east end at Lake Shore Drive in Chicago is seen to physically terminate at Birchdale Avenue in Elmwood Park.

Yes, there is a stretch of road named Diversey in West Chicago. It extends for less than 1/2 mile from its west end at Woodland Ave to its east end at Illinois Route 59.

But between Illinois Route 59 in West Chicago and Birchdale Avenue in Elmwood Park there is a distance of 19.85 miles. To say that the two roads are the same road when there is a break of 19.85 miles between them is quite a stretch. People generally understand the two ends of a road to be physically connected to each other by the road running continuously between them. A break of a few blocks, or even a mile, may be acceptable. But 19.85 miles?

I think that for clear and practical geographical understanding, the west end of Diversey in Chicago should be recorded as Birchdale Ave in Elmwood Park. The short stretch of road that's named Diversey in West Chicago should be known as a separate road which happens to have the same name. Cosmo1976 (talk) 06:02, 27 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
