Can we get a cite for how comparatively large the seat is?[edit]

I removed Alaska's At-large congressional district as 570k square miles is smaller than 613k, leaving Nunavut. The WA Libs say Durack is the "second largest in the world". Can anyone find a better cite? Timeshift (talk) 07:56, 17 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The growth of specific constituencies for ex pat voters is radically changing the sizes in this area. The Italian Parliament has a single deputy for voters in Africa, Asia, Oceania and Antarctica while the largest French seat covers Belarus, Ukraine, Russia, Moldova, Oceania and most of Asia. But if Overseas constituency is correct then the biggest of all is the single seat in the Colombian parliament for voters outside Colombia. Timrollpickering (talk) 21:46, 9 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

That's a technicality. Perhaps we should change the sentence to "is the second largest single-member in-country electorate in the world". Or a better term than "in-country". The purpose of the statement is to demonstrate how big an electorate is geographically. I really don't think mop-up representation for out-of-country people counts in terms of geographical electoral size in a given country. Timeshift (talk) 23:37, 9 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Largest is now Sakha (Yakutia) Republic SMD in Russia?[edit]

Maybe the largest single-member district is now the Sakha (Yakutia) Republic (3,083,523 km2) which has 1 seat in the Russian Duma (Russian legislative election, 2016)? (But the Duma also has a nationwide PR tier and Russia is not a democracy)----Bancki (talk) 07:49, 19 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
