Fair use rationale for Image:Doctorandthemedics.jpg[edit]

Image:Doctorandthemedics.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

My father managed this band, I'll try and get permission for a picture. Revelation13 (talk) 08:38, 4 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I've officially got permission to use an image from the band's lead singer Clive, who will be emailing me a picture to use when he returns from the current tour. Revelation13 (talk) 08:47, 4 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I had a phonecall with my father last night about the whole issue, He's said that a lot of the article is highly inaccurate, so with information provided by him and Clive Jackson, I'll be re-writing much of the article and adding in a lot more content. Revelation13 (talk) 17:41, 5 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Please ensure that any information that you add or change is backed up by citing reliable and verifiable sources.--Michig (talk) 17:44, 5 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Seeing as most of it will be done by email / phone with my father and clive jackson himself, how would you suggest making it verifiable? ~ would a note on the Dr. and the medics website (doctorandthemedics.com) be OK? (open to any other suggestions) Revelation13 (talk) 23:44, 5 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Information needs to be backed up by sources independent of the subject. Any useful info from Clive or your Father needs to be confirmed by other sources. This article has had some dubious stuff added in the past, with a strong suspicion that it came from a certain member of the group.--Michig (talk) 20:27, 6 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The kind of information I'll be adding is correcting things about the band's lineup at certian points of time which apparently are incorrect as of now (just what my father has said, I've not got any specific details yet.) ~ However, I do also intend to add content about the band playing in clive & my father's club; Alice in Wonderland. (also a pending article) Revelation13 (talk) 05:15, 7 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Shifted paragraph[edit]

I deleted the following paragraph as it seemed largely irrelevant and very poorly written, but am parking it here in case the few concrete details can be used in a rewrite (the whole text needs a much more thorough clean-up):

The band also appeared live on the C4 TV show which replaced the "TUBE". This show was called "ECT" and broadcast live from 5.30-6.30 if i remember correctly with entrance to the studio between 4.45pm and 5.15pm The shows Date was Friday June 7th 1985. The studio was on an industrial estate off Wycombe Road Wembley Middlesex. The band appeared 2nd on the show running order and played 2 songs "happy but twisted" and Hawkwinds "Silver Machine". The other groups performing in correct running order were Dumpys Rusty Nuts these guys do still gig around the country "Rock Goddess" and "Heavy Pettin" from Soctland the medics played between "Dumpys Rusty Nuts" and "Rock goddess". —Preceding unsigned comment added by Gusworld (talkcontribs) 22:37, 6 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Planet Alice ?[edit]

Not sure of the "relevence" or "importance" of this , so I'll mention it here , and the page master can decide. The Band at one point had a shoppe called "Planet Alice" on Portobello Road , London , England. It sold clothes designed by The Annadin Brothers , and Doctor & The Medics t-shirts and such. I went there in 1989 , not sure how much longer it remained opened. ( Or for that matter , when it started. ) Harvey J Satan (talk) 17:42, 30 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I'll just update myself then , shall I ? Recent revelations , found on Wikipedia no less(!) , point to Lee Starkey ( daughter of Ringo Starr ) as a co-owner of "Planet Alice" , whom pulled up stakes at the end of 1989! The boutique was moved to the Hollywood area of California , and closed up by 1991. Harvey J Satan (talk) 01:12, 22 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

infobox[edit]

I have changed the infobox by adding a better image, changing the origin and years active according to all musics biography of the group. I have also minorly improved the writing in the lead section.

Discography Re-Vamp[edit]

Hope nobody minds that I've fleshed out the Discography a little. I'm terrible with formatting HERE , so , if anyone would like to further tweak it , please do. ( There's probably more things out there , this is more or less from my collection , and is probably incomplete … but , a start! )Harvey J Satan (talk) 19:37, 23 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

On Film[edit]

Is it worth the bother to note their music videos? As far as I recall , they did them for , "Spirit In The Sky" / "Burn" / "Waterloo" / "Burning Love" / "More" and "You Spin Me Round ( Like A Record )" . Did I miss any?

"Burning Love" was recorded for the film "Burnin' Love" ( which was it's U.S. title. ) , in the U.K. it was titled "Love At Stake" , which may explain why there is no U.K. single?

The band supposedly - I say this as I haven't seen the film - appear in the U.S. film "Maid To Order" as themselves performing "Spirit In the Sky".

Food for thought , I'm on a jag today. Harvey J Satan (talk) 21:13, 23 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
