Uploaded Mayavase images[edit]

Hi there Vaga85 - re the two imgs above from Justin Kerr's Mayavase portfolio that you've uploaded to Commons. Just to let you know that unless the permission and licensing status for the imgs is not updated on their respective Commons pages, the imgs will probably be deleted in about a week.

I saw at the commons pages that you'd linked to the OTRS pending template (I fixed the coding so the template was being directly called), so I am presuming that you've managed to obtain some email confirmation from Dr Kerr that the imgs can be used under some appropriate free and commons-compatible license. Which is great, only that you may have to leave some more info on their image pages on commons so that admins there can see that the formal permissions registration process is underway. Just follow the procedures at commons:OTRS, if for eg you could supply some info such as the email header name and date you sent to the OTRS queue, then that should hopefully be enough to forestall any deletion action of unlicensed imgs.

Editing and Comments[edit]

I think this is a good start, but it can be much improved with better organization and correct citations. Note that you haven't included any in-line citations of your sources. This can be accomplished with references in the style of entries made by other students in the course (check these for examples of how to include footnotes). Please note that your second image of a dog is not a Maya example, but a Pre-Columbian vessel from Colima, well outside the Maya area. I recommend that you use your contribution as an addition to the "Dogs in Mesoamerican" entry, editing it so that it fits a larger structure that can be expanded with other examples. Alternate/draft version[edit]

Seems there's an alternate/draft version (by another contributor) on this topic, its been moved to Dogs in Mesoamerica/version 2. Maybe something from there cld be merged into here, tho quickly looking at it I don't think there's much. Just pinning it here for future reference/action, possibly deletion. --cjllw ʘ TALK 01:26, 21 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
