Fair use rationale for Image:Amazing Adventures 31.jpg[edit]

Image:Amazing Adventures 31.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Image's red-eye[edit]

If anyone can fix the red eye any better than my admittedly sorry attempt, please, please do. It's nice to have a photo of McGregor during an important period in his career, but that red eye is problematic. I probably took this with an Instamatic with flash cubes or something equally primitive....!--Tenebrae (talk) 22:16, 9 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Illustrations[edit]

One cannot have an encyclopedic article about Don McGregor without giving examples of the two works for which he is best-known, "Killraven" and Sabre. The "Killraven" issue contains mainstream comic books; first interracial kiss and is a highly important and historic document of comics' maturity, to which he materially contributed. Likewise, not including an image of Sabre — arguably the first modern graphic novel, predating Will Eisner's A Contract with God, but definitively the first graphic novel sold in the emerging direct market of comic-book retail stores. He co-created Sabre, including the protagonist's distinctive look, and the FUR adequately demonstrates this.

No editor has special veto power over images, or, unless he is a copyright lawyer, can claim any more laymen's knowledge of fair use than any other editor. I would hope that, per WP:BRD, the editor who removed them chooses not to edit war but to discuss concerns here, including in an RfC if he so desires. --Tenebrae (talk) 20:26, 28 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
