Untitled[edit]

Dear Jannjim, I`m afraid I really can`t understand why you have removed the reference to the circumstances (and potential consequences of) the world record javelin throw at The Don Valley Stadium. I was there and it did happen, comments were made about it in the media at the time. Is it that you think it inappropriate to be amusing in a Wiki article ? Provided the comment is accurate and brief I`m afraid I couldn`t disagree with you more. The best teachers at school, the ones who taught you things that stuck in your mind, used relevant humour to communicate facts. I`m prepared to bet that anyone reading this article will remember a world record javelin throw was set at Don Valley, isn`t that the point ? I would be interested to hear your argument(s). Justin Smith

Seated capacity[edit]

It really doesn't look like DVS has 25,000 seats. Can someone verify? Football Manager 2012 has DVS down as holding 10,500. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Henryhill86 (talkcontribs) 14:35, 15 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Completely new Stadium since Wembley/1920s[edit]

I'm not convinced this is true at all. Crystal Palace NSC was built in the 1960s in between Wembley and Don valley and there may be many more than I'm aware of. Unless someone has a credible source for this statement I think it should be removed. SheffGruff (talk) 14:36, 8 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Profitable Venue?[edit]

The intro says the stadium has become a profitable venue for athletics, but then says the council will demolish it as a cost savings. How can it be a cost savings if it is profitable? Don Valley Bowl[edit]

Isn't Don Valley Stadium the same place referred to as Don Valley Bowl on the Olympic Legacy Park page? Didimilk (talk) 14:32, 5 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

No, the "bowl" is a different venue entirely, and is still in use. 62.3.74.142 (talk) 12:36, 4 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
