To Do: add refs to May 2, 2012 program[edit]

Some of the history of The Talk of Gasoline Alley described in this article--currently unsourced--was reviewed by Davidson at the beginning of the May 2, 2012 show. It would be useful to review that to see which statements can be sourced to that broadcast and properly reference them in the article. I'll do that when I get a chance, unless someone else gets to it before me (in which case, great!) Chuck (talk) 14:16, 9 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Also, the radio episode of One on One with Mark Montieth on 1070 WFNI (dated 5-10-09) was a source for writing it, but it's not cited. I will work to add/enhance/correct/cite anything from that broadcast. Doctorindy (talk) 19:34, 1 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Other information[edit]

  • According to TOGA from 5/24/13, Donald said he met his wife Sherry in Columbus, Ohio in April 1966; they married Jan. 7, 1967, and Dick Jordan of USAC was his best man.
  • He does not want his age known, but according to numerous references he's given on the show and in articles, he was 21 when he arrived at the race in 1964 (so that put him born in 1943).
    • Though he hasn't specficially stated what his birthday is, he has said publicly on the show he shares a birthday with Jimmy Bryan and Gene Hartley (which, if true, would be January 28), and now also Takuma Sato.
  • The 500 official program has a profile of Davidson in both the 2004 and 2009 editions.
