Contested deletion[edit]

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because this academic was inducted as a Fellow of the Linguistic Society of America, which is a quite honorable way to be recognized for one's research achievements. @Ambrca: Thanks for helping with this insight. Please note that per the WP:NACADEMIC, a person would need to be a member of a major scholarly society and Linguistic Society of America is instead a Learned society, which by definition 'exists to promote an academic discipline or profession'. - This is simply my observation.
In any regards, please do once refer to WP:ACADEMIC and help with any further references that may have been missed.
