The following is a non-inflation-adjusted extract of the lists of the highest-grossing Bollywood films in India according to BoxOffice India.com and IBOS Network. Figures are given in Indian rupees. For an inflation-adjusted list, see List of highest-grossing Bollywood films, adjusted for inflation. Note: There is no box-office publication for south films. Only sources from National news paper about revenue could be correct.

Discussion[edit]

I will review this article. Thank you. — Ssven2 speak 2 me 10:04, 29 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Pavanjandhyala: First of all, italicise all newspaper names like The Times of India, The Hindu, International Business Times, etc. for both the references and the prose. — Ssven2 speak 2 me 10:07, 29 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Done Italicised all the names of the newspapers for both prose and references. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 10:41, 29 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Good. Will continue tomorrow. Ssven2 speak 2 me 11:22, 29 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Tomorrow i will be out of station. Can we continue day after tomorrow? Pavanjandhyala (talk) 12:36, 29 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Day after tmrw, then. — Ssven2 speak 2 me 13:17, 29 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Pavan, you can respond when you like. Ssven, you continue adding comments to the GAR. Kailash29792 (talk) 17:43, 29 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The "Filming" section needs some copyediting. Otherwise the article is good. Nice job!. — Ssven2 speak 2 me 03:56, 31 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Lead[edit]

  • "The film was predominantly shot in Hyderabad and was significantly shot in Mumbai, Gujarat, Istanbul, Dubai and Switzerland." - Can you rephrase it as "The film was predominantly shot in Hyderabad, with portions of the film also shot in Mumbai, Gujarat, Istanbul, Dubai and Switzerland." — Ssven2 speak 2 me 04:19, 30 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • "The film collected a distributor share of INR56.7 crore in its lifetime and grossed more than INR100 crore in its lifetime making it one of the biggest grossers of Telugu cinema." - It doesn't say in the "Box Office" section that the film grossed 100 crores. Rephrase "making it one of the biggest grossers of Telugu cinema" as "making it one of the highest grossers of 2011 in Telugu cinema" as Attarintiki Daredi is now the highest I believe. — Ssven2 speak 2 me 04:18, 30 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Done Rephrased those sentences in the Lead. And also you can see the line "The film grossed INR 1.01 billion (US$16 million) by the end of its 50 day run at the worldwide Box office" with citation number 62 for details because of which i wrote that line in the lead. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 04:28, 30 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Change crores to millions and billions for generalisation, and don't use the INRConert thing, just " 300 million" for example, is good. — Ssven2 speak 2 me 04:55, 30 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Done Removed the INRConvert template from BO section, Home Media, Lead and info box. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 05:16, 30 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • "six awards at the 59th Filmfare Awards South" can simply be written as "six Filmfare Awards" and FIlmfare Awards linked to 59th Filmfare Awards South. — Ssven2 speak 2 me 05:34, 30 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Done for both Filmfare and SIIMA. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 05:37, 30 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Plot[edit]

  • "of Shankar Nagar constituency named after him in Hyderabad who always helps the poor. " can be rephrased as "of the constituency of Shankar Nagar, which is named after him, in Hyderabad, and is regarded as a champion for the poor." — Ssven2 speak 2 me 05:42, 30 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • "Except his family, the rest of the world thinks that he is killed in that accident." - reaphrase it as "Except his family, everyone else presumes that he is killed in the accident." — Ssven2 speak 2 me 05:42, 30 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Done Rephrased the lines as per your suggestions. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 06:38, 30 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • "His son Ajay is a cop in Mumbai who fights against the mafia. He is on a mission to apprehend Mafia don Nayak who is involved in illegal drug trade, extortion and arms trafficking." - remove the part "who fights against the mafia. He" and make it as "His son Ajay is a cop in Mumbai and is on a mission to apprehend Mafia don Nayak who is involved in illegal drug trade, extortion and arms trafficking." — Ssven2 speak 2 me 08:59, 30 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

 Done Rephrased. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 15:02, 30 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Production[edit]

Development[edit]

  • "an action film with love backdrop" - Rephrase it as "a romance action film". — Ssven2 speak 2 me 08:59, 30 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • "joined the film as co-producer." - Rephrase it as "worked in the film as a co-producer." — Ssven2 speak 2 me 09:02, 30 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Instead of Srinu, address the director by his last name, Vaitla (everywhere the name Srinu is mentioned). — Ssven2 speak 2 me 09:02, 30 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • "because of few differences." what were those differences? Can you find a source for it? If not you can rephrase the sentence as "Prasad Murella was the initial choice for handling the cinematography, but walked out of the film due to differences with Vaitla." — Ssven2 speak 2 me 09:05, 30 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Done Vaitla's explanation regarding the last was found from Rediff. All the above three changes were made. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 09:31, 30 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Casting[edit]

  • "was signed as the antagonist of the film." can be rephrased as "was cast as the film's antagonist." — Ssven2 speak 2 me 09:14, 30 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • ":crucial comedy roles." - even though it is for comedy "crucial supporting roles." will suffice. — Ssven2 speak 2 me 09:14, 30 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • "another item number which happened to be the title song of the film" can be rephrased as "performing the title song of the film." — Ssven2 speak 2 me 09:14, 30 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • "Later in an interview, Srinu justified the treatment saying a lot depends on the run of the subject and also hero-heroine chemistry for the development of the lead characters on the limited role of Samantha in the film." - the whole sentence looks pretty vague. Doesn't the phrase "Regarding the limited role of Samantha in the film, Vaitla clarified that a lot depended on the film's subject and it was done mainly to develop the chemistry between the lead pair." sound better? — Ssven2 speak 2 me 09:14, 30 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Done All changes made. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 09:31, 30 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • "Kajal Aggarwal was rumored to be the second female lead while Daggubati Venkatesh was rumored to provide a voice-over." What happened to them? — Ssven2 speak 2 me 03:09, 31 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Done The former's inclusion remained unconfirmed till date and the latter's inclusion was confirmed as a rumor. The same was added in Casting section. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 17:21, 31 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Filming[edit]

  • "Some important talkie portions were shot at Ramanaidu Studios in Hyderabad in mid January 2011." - rephrase it as "In mid January 2011, filming then moved to Ramanaidu Studios in Hyderabad." — Ssven2 speak 2 me 03:18, 31 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

 Done Pavanjandhyala (talk) 17:07, 31 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • "Few scenes on Mahesh, Samantha and Sonia " - rephrase it as "Scenes featuring Mahesh, Samantha and Sonia" — Ssven2 speak 2 me 03:18, 31 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

 Done Pavanjandhyala (talk) 17:07, 31 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Music[edit]

  • "The soundtrack was highly successful.[47] However, it received mixed response from critics." - You can state it like this : "The soundtrack was successful in its collections.[47] However, it received mixed response from critics."

 Done Pavanjandhyala (talk) 17:07, 31 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Themes and influences[edit]

  • "Few critics said that the film's story is inspired" - but there is only one who states it. — Ssven2 speak 2 me 03:28, 31 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Ssven2: Most of them were non reliable. Idlebrain stated the same in its review but i chose not to add it because of its hyping. Since the source said "few" and the source has been a reliable one, i used it. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 17:30, 31 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Pavanjandhyala: Ok then leave it as it is. No need to change. — Ssven2 speak 2 me 04:26, 1 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • "Apart from that, Vaitla was inspired by other small things from Good Bye, Lenin!" such as? — Ssven2 speak 2 me 03:28, 31 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Ssven2: For example, Hero shows a footage of N. T. Rama Rao as the president of India on republic day instead of Manmohan Singh as a live telecast while a voice artist dubs for Rama Rao. It was shown as Prakash Raj's character is a fan of Rama Rao. You can find such situation in Good Bye Lenin. Also in the climax, Hero lies to Prakash Raj about few things without knowing that the latter is aware of the drama. Like these, there are few more like printing fake newspapers showing Hero as a MLA etc. Can i add these without any citations ? Pavanjandhyala (talk) 17:30, 31 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Pavanjandhyala: Ok, add them. — Ssven2 speak 2 me 04:27, 1 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Done Added the info. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 06:03, 1 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Release[edit]

  • "after suggesting few cuts" can be rephrased as "after a few cuts were done." — Ssven2 speak 2 me 03:36, 31 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

 Done Pavanjandhyala (talk) 17:07, 31 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Legal Issues[edit]

  • "soughting necessary permission till" can be rephrased as "seeking necessary permission to film the sequences till." — Ssven2 speak 2 me 03:36, 31 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

 Done Pavanjandhyala (talk) 17:07, 31 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • "gave them an assurance that cases" - rephrase it as "assured them that the cases". — Ssven2 speak 2 me 03:36, 31 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

 Done Pavanjandhyala (talk) 17:07, 31 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Home media[edit]

  • "Vijayawada city police seized the pirated versions of the film's DVDs" can be rephrased as "Pirated versions of the film's DVDs were seized by the Vijayawada city police" — Ssven2 speak 2 me 03:38, 31 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

 Done Pavanjandhyala (talk) 17:07, 31 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Legacy[edit]

  • "After the film's success, Income Tax Department officials conducted a raid on the Jubilee Hills residence of Mahesh." why? — Ssven2 speak 2 me 03:41, 31 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Ssven2: Because of Reports of Dookudu generating 100 Crores at BO and stories that Mahesh was getting more than 12 Crores for each movie post its success. It is mentioned in the source given. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 17:30, 31 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Pavanjandhyala: If so, add the contents from the source in the article please. — Ssven2 speak 2 me 04:28, 1 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

 Done Pavanjandhyala (talk) 05:33, 1 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Pavanjandhyala: If you address these concerns, then the article will be promoted. — Ssven2 speak 2 me 04:52, 31 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Quick Guest review by Strike Eagle[edit]

Good day, I just wanted to point out a few things I noticed while taking a quick glance of the article.

  • The film is inspired from the 2003 German tragicomedy film Good Bye, Lenin!. The source given to this statement mentions that a few things have been adapted from the German movie but not the whole movie. I suggest you change it to something like Critics noted similarities between Dookudu and Good Bye, Lenin!. I suggest you mention this in the third paragraph.
  • It is The Los Angeles Times....not Los Angeles Times Cheers, ƬheStrikeΣagle 13:33, 30 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Done I Added "The" before Los Angeles Times as you said. For the Lead section, How about "The film is partially inspired from the 2003 tragicomedy film Good Bye! Lenin" as most of the main plot resembles it. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 13:46, 30 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

No problem with me. Go ahead! Cheers, ƬheStrikeΣagle 13:51, 30 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Good Bye, Lenin[edit]
