I Knew Dorothy Woolfolk[edit]

In fact, I worked for her for about a year when she was editing the romance comics at DC. [Tenebrae deleted inappropriate, possibly slanderous personal opinion for which the subject is deceased and cannot respond]

On the other hand, if someone wants to give credit to Dorothy for something that she did do, it might be mentioned that she resolutely integrated the art in her books by race, insisting that black characters join the whites. At fist, this was done in crowd scenes only. Then Dorothy introduced black principals. This involved redrawing of the art and also some experimenting by the colorist. Her name was Tatiana, I recall, a Russian or perhaps Ukranian emigree. We finally discovered that a shade known as Y2R3 looked most natural. It seems odd that I remember that bit of tech after all these years, and i should point out that, typically, Dorothy could not remember it ten minutes after it was mentioned, though we dealt with it at least once a week. --Ethan Mordden

No one is "in charge" of any article. Wikipedia is based on verifiable material attribute to reliable published or onsite sources. Original research, therefore is not allowed; that is one of the principal precepts of Wikipedia.

The quote is properly cited, and comes from a co-worker of Woolfolk's, as you claim to be. If you wish to find an authoritative, published citation with a counter quote, you are absolutely welcome to do so. I would suggest, however, that the highly personal vehemence of your characterization above would make any such addition highly suspect to fellow Wike editors. --Tenebrae 21:02, 1 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oct. 1 and Nov. 1 match the SSDI records at a separate site, http://www.fold3.com/s.php#query=Dorothy+Woolfolk&offset=6&preview=1&t=830. The newspaper obit, with differing dates, is available only as a pay article live or as an archive at Webcitation.org, which appears to be down right now.
