why does this man hate cincinnati so much is the question i have? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 65.27.228.104 (talkcontribs) 19:58, March 12, 2006.

A plethora of opinions[edit]

Wikipedia is supposed to be an objective source of information. Do not drag people through the mud. If there is a sourced comment about Gottlieb or someone else, then add that source.Stusutcliffe 05:00, 1 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Improved this article[edit]

Whoever wrote this article seem to have an axe to grind about Gottlieb. I've tried to clean up the article, but I cannot find one thing regarding the IDF draft. If I cannot verify the information, I'm deleting it. This is a hatchet job, and I'm a Syracuse alum. Orangemarlin 04:34, 4 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This article would have been libelous. I fixed references, cleaned up the article to conform to WP:NPOV and WP:BLP. Orangemarlin 06:30, 4 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Israeli Army[edit]

I have searched everywhere for information on Gottlieb and the Israeli Army, and all I could find were references to this article. I'm beginning to believe it was invented, so I'm removing it as unverifiable. Orangemarlin 18:14, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Looks fair enough to me. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 18:22, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Orangemarlin, what does the Law of Return have to do with Gottlieb being, or not being, an Israeli? The point is that I have seen absolutely no evidence that he is an Israeli. I lived in Israel for a year but wouldn't call myself an Israeli. stusutcliffe (talk) 19:04, 28 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

how do we request protection?[edit]

Not sure how to do it, as I never have had to. How do we ask for protection of a certain page due to excessive vandalism? Dureo 04:42, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

seems to be taken care of thanks. Dureo 04:43, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

I sent a request, and it's done. As a suggestion, sign your name with ~~~~. In addition, you need to go to your preferences, and uncheck "raw signature" in your profile. Every good editor has a signature that allows a direct link to your user talk page. Orangemarlin 04:48, 27 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Boeheim/Gottlieb[edit]

In the professional section, there was a line ending in "discuss their row publicly", which didn't make any sense to me. I changed "row" to differences, as i think thats the point that is trying to be conveyed. If its not, please correct it. Darry2385 21:27, 27 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A row is "a noisy dispute or quarrel; commotion." And it is. It is isn't "differences" because it's not a polite discussions or debate. One appears to dislike the other and vice versa. I'm going to revert your edits to the better description of their "discussion." Orangemarlin 21:48, 27 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well, they say you learn something new every day. Thanks, Orangemarlin. Darry2385 22:06, 27 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Persistent Vandalism[edit]

I actually only monitor this article and Bill Clinton with respect to Biographies. I know why people vandalize Clinton's article (and some of it is amusing), but what do people have against Gottlieb? He's kind of controversial, and as a Syracuse grad, I don't particularly like the man, but still, he's not that important to the world. Or is this a problem with all Wikipedia biographies? Orangemarlin 19:01, 16 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know, but this is on my shortlist of biographies that I monitor, as well. The recent charge that he doesn't accept criticism, citing a deadspin article quoting some drunken collegeboys ripping on him, shows that people do have an axe to grind with him. stusutcliffe (talk) 16:42, 15 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I watch it for WP:BLP issues. You should have seen it before I did some massive editing a couple of years ago. I missed the "three douchebags" critiques. LOL. OrangeMarlin Talk• Contributions 17:51, 15 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Don't you remember we had this conversation? You and I were talking about this before. I really appreciate your work on this article. Check out a couple of versions ago for the deadspin article. It's actually pretty funny, but of course it has no place in this article. stusutcliffe (talk) 18:08, 15 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Doug Gottlieb 920 AM.jpg[edit]

Image:Doug Gottlieb 920 AM.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 01:12, 3 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Expelled[edit]

On his radio show today Doug said he wasn't "expelled" from Notre Dame, but was politely asked to leave. Not saying he's the final word, but just pointing that out. What with it being a biography of living persons and all. Someone else can decide whether this merits any furhter attention.

Really?[edit]

We're taking the word of a thief now on the subject of the consequences of his being a thief?

The idea that ND would politely ask someone to leave is absurd. They've expelled much better people for much less. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.227.77.90 (talk) 06:02, 2 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Blacklisted Links Found on the Main Page[edit]

Cyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request it's removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.

Below is a list of links that were found on the main page:
