Ulster Banner[edit]

I removed the UB as I can't find evidence that either were capped internationals and if they are not the flag is being used to represent the place they were born NI and not the fact that they represented NI in soccer. If any sources can be provided that they were capped I won't remove them again. BigDunc 20:21, 27 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

These flag icons aren't used only to denote capped players. Mooretwin (talk) 20:32, 27 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Then what is it being used for? BigDunc
To denote the person's football nationality, presumably. Do you think the full Stranraer squad has been capped by Scotland? Mooretwin (talk) 20:49, 27 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thats rubbish if they weren't capped then I will remove them. BigDunc 20:53, 27 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
What's rubbish? Are you going to remove all flag icons from all uncapped players across the whole encyclopaedia? Might your own personal views of this flag in particular be influencing your actions? Mooretwin (talk) 20:54, 27 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The flag is being used wrongly to portray NI. It is not the flag of NI as you well know. BigDunc 20:57, 27 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It's the flag of NI football, as you well know. Mooretwin (talk) 21:09, 27 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yes but they haven't represented NI to my knowledge. BigDunc 21:12, 27 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
No-one said they did. As noted above, the flag is there to represent their football nationality. Mooretwin (talk) 21:14, 27 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
their football nationality and do you know for a fact that they would have played for NI and not ROI? BigDunc 21:21, 27 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The editor who added in the names and the flag icons presumably knows. Mooretwin (talk) 22:04, 27 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
