Comment[edit]

Cinema Place was the scene of a shooting on it's grand opening. Most retail spaces have remain unoccupied for the past few years. The theater is not doing well. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.54.8.136 (talk) 01:53, 2 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I was going to delete this comment, but i realized its a perfect example of what we dont do here. the 3 statements may in fact be true, and i have observed that the second statement has been somewhat correct at times, but unless we have a reliable source (not me) stating these things, they dont belong in the article. i searched for any evidence these statements have been reported on, and could find none. I have been editing a lot of hayward articles, and i try to avoid boosterism, and would be happy to add any notable facts here, unpleasant or otherwise. I strongly believe that each city article on WP deserves treatment similar to that which living persons deserve. disparaging, or making incorrect or simply unsourced statements about communities, while not subject to libel laws, are absolutely not ethical for an encyclopedia article. if someone wants to disparage or write any sort of opinion piece about a community, i think we have appropriate outlets for that.Mercurywoodrose (talk) 04:19, 20 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
