Animal

Animal needs his own page, btw. -JohnnyLurg

Animal absolutly needs his own page. Animal has appeared so many times without the rest of the group. He was even the mascot for the US 1998 Olympic Snowboarding Team. AmericanGuru 17:13, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

animal is totally modelled after john bonham, after all led zepplilin's manager's nickname for bonzo was "the animal"

he may have bonham's nickname but surely his eyebrows are keith moon's? p.s. "led zeppelin" Mnoe817 12:19, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
I agree with both of the above,as I see him as cross between John Bonham and Keith Moon in style and attitude, however the look on his face reminds me of Mick Fleetwood.15:40, 1 March 2008 (UTC)) beakerofargh

I agree about the own page and will create one. Rds865 (talk) 01:24, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

I think it's pretty clear to most 70's rock fans that Animal is based on Ginger Baker. With the red hair, they even look alike.

Should the rest of the band get merged in as well? Daibhid C

I think so, therefore I did. --Rossumcapek 19:24, 22 Aug 2004 (UTC)
I disagree - these characters warrent their own pages, and this page should be for activities done as a group. By having them merged in this fashion, the whole page is split up as to the individual contributions of each character and much of the groups activites is not being focused on...like a list of their most famous performances, like "Fifty Ways To Leave Your Lover", or their backup performances for stars like Elton John's Crocodile Rock.AmericanGuru 17:13, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

Janice needs a picture badly. She was always the funkiest of the Muppets. Mike H 16:41, Aug 31, 2004 (UTC)

-- let me second that - a picture of Janice would be great. Anyone got one?

Alright, so this "Lips" joined them in the 5th season. Where's his description?

Surely "Zoot" is an homage to Zoot Sims?

In name only, check out this pic of the already listed inspiration, Gato Barbieri. It's definitely Zoot!

What about Monty Python and the Holy Grail? Castle Anthrax? Just an idea...Motor.on 02:02, 20 May 2006 (UTC)

There needs to be a link or at least reference to the musicians, namely the Jack Pardell Orchestra (if I remember rightly) who actually performed the music week to week on the show. While the puppeteers were rightly acclaimed for their animated performances, the real genius behind the popularity of the music was surely the musicians themselves JRJW January '06

Should there be a reference to They Might Be Giants] Under Animal? In a live version of She's Actual size, they play drums like Animal. Motor.on 02:02, 20 May 2006 (UTC)

Picture of Janice

Here's a shot of Janice I think is great for her entry:

http://www.digitalis.plus.com/janice/Cleo4.jpg

I found a few by searching "muppet Janice" on Yahoo and I think this one[1] is a good pic, but I don't know how to add pictures to this. I'm sure pictures of the other members could be found as well. -Liz Feb .25, 2006

edit- Here's [2] pic of Animal on the drums, which I think would go better than one of him on Extreme Makeover Home Edition.

This [3] is really the only picture of Dr. Teeth I can find.

Here's one of Sgt. Floyd Pepper- [4] Once again, I couldn't find many more with Yahoo..

Also, a huge picture of the band minus Lips.[5] And another of the band [6], with no Lips. It's like Lips fell off the earth... =D

Janice link

Hey y'all, just wanted to let other fans know I put a link up for my Janice web site under her entry. The site is: Janice: "Fer sure!" Hope other Janice fans enjoy it...

Question

"Janice is the only member of the band apart from Animal to have appeared on the animated series Muppet Babies." -------What about Rowlf? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.217.170.111 (talkcontribs) .

Frankly, I'm still not sure why Rowlf is even in this article. He was never considered a member of the band. Powers 13:35, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, and what's with "It is thought that Tom Waits has served as the inspiration for Rowlf's character in later muppet releases"? Thought by whom? -GTBacchus(talk) 06:26, 28 August 2006 (UTC)

Copyright

Somebody added a copyright violation tag to the page, which didn't seem right to me. On further investigation, it was a user with only 2 other edits, another of which was a potential vandalism. Since they left no discussion on the talk page giving any reason why the tag should have been added, I removed it until it can be warranted. --71.219.67.102 17:52, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

I thought it was a copyright violation, too, when I found this site. It was a bad moment. But then I thought to check the dates, and realized that the web site had copied the Wikipedia article, and not the other way 'round. -FisherQueen (Talk) 13:57, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

Dr. Gene Scott=inspiration?

Is dr teeth based at least in part on Dr. Gene Scott?

Watch these two videos and tell me they're nothing alike. http://youtube.com/watch?v=yMRxKLxtDtg http://youtube.com/watch?v=yM9N30V4wnQ —Preceding unsigned comment added by 132.241.246.71 (talk) 01:35, 4 October 2007 (UTC)

That's pretty cool. Of course, we can't add it to the article unless we can find a reliable source to confirm that he was one of the inspirations. -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 10:52, 4 October 2007 (UTC)

Don't bother. He was inspired by Dr. John.Mister ricochet 04:06, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion.
