Untitled[edit]

A little help please - how did this film ever get on to the big screen? I've never seen it, but it looks like an insult to Doctor Who, a TV show which I love.--Codenamecuckoo 11:08, July 31, 2005 (UTC)

It's actually not bad, in a cute sort of way, as long as you don't think to yourself that it's got anything to do with a television series called Doctor Who. It was made at the height of Dalekmania, in 1965, when you couldn't swing a dead cat without hitting a piece of Dalek merchandise, or kids running in playgrounds screeching EXTERMINATE and zapping their friends, teachers, parents and siblings. Aside from the elements of a human inventor named Doctor Who, with Barbara being his second granddaughter, a prepubsecent Susan, Barbara's boyfriend Ian and a very odd looking TARDIS interior, the rest is a not-bad high-adventure adaptation of The Daleks. I just finished reading volume 1 of Miles and Woods About Time (the unofficial guide to Doctor Who), and they do a great job describing just how big Doctor Who was in the 60's.

I've got a theory about the possible link in with "proper" Dr Who - it could be this Doctor is like the "parralel" version of the Doctor, the same way in which the Cybermen from the new series are a parrelel version of the ones from Mondas. Runtime[edit]

The article currently gives the film's runtime as 83 minutes. IMDb says it's 82. Similarly, Daleks - Invasion Earth 2150 AD gives a runtime of 84 minutes, but IMDb gives 81 min. for that film. I know that these things can vary depending on how the film is run, but does anyone know which is more accurate by whatever the standard measurement is? —Josiah Rowe (talk • contribs) 08:11, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

According to my DVD boxset, the first film runs for 79 minutes while the second lasts 81 minutes. Home releases are probably the most reliable sources of runtime data. It would seem, therefore, that IMDb is only correct with its length for the second film, which I have already amended on Wikipedia. SuperMarioMan 22:38, 18 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dr Who! song again[edit]

I'm not sure if project alerts are even functioning now since the actual toolserver is down. But in any case this project wouldn't get the alert since the tag isn't on the page. See: Talk:Dr. Who! (Tujamo and Plastik Funk song).

BTW ...it would be helpful if anyone could establish (1) if the original Dr Who song ever had lyrics, (2) if this song in any way cites the BBC theme or otherwise has a connection to the TV series. In ictu oculi (talk) 10:32, 2 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Further, even if the the song cites the BBC theme or has a connection to the Doctor Who TV series, this article refers to the first Dalek feature film, which didn't use the TV series theme. In this film the character is actually called "Doctor Who" and not "the Doctor". It is not part of the TV series and does not follow the same conventions as the TV series. --Khajidha (talk) 17:23, 15 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
