Romanizations for names[edit]

Well, seeing how many people keep changing the spelling of some names back and forth, it's best to resolve it here. Some names with possible issues are:

Line Cromwell (romanized kanji=Raina) - Some have considered Lina, but that is unlikely given the kanji, ライナ. If it was "Lina", the kanji would simply be "リナ". If you slowly sound out the syllables in Line, it closely sounds like Raina. Although, other possibilities are Liner, Laina, or simply Raina. Since it's constantly being changed into different names, I've left it as Raina until an official romanization is shown in the anime.

Machina (Makina) - Machina is actually a common word. For this type of anime, it's an understandable name given she is a dragon (i.e. in Final Fantasy or Deus ex machina)

Spirytus (Supiritasu) - The name was directly translated from episode 2 of the anime.

Album - Should be cleared up.

Lindbulm (Rindoburumu) - Other possibility was Lindwurm. Apparently, Lindworm (or Lindwurm in German) means a serpent-like dragon.

Toa (Toa) - It was changed to Thor at one point, but that's a big leap. Until some decent info supports that, that's just original research for now. As of episode 8, her name is officially Toa, since she apparently got the name from Ai's bracelet, which now reads 'To A' rather than 'To Ai'.

Atrum/Ostrum (Atorumu/Osutorumu) - Other possibilities are Atum/Ostum and Atolm/Ostolm, the latter being the more likely, but Atrum/Ostrum seems to be the pair that people keep changing it to. Since it still seems to stay true to the kanji, I'll just leave it as that until an official or more likely name appears.

Jaquelinde Baumgard - This is far from correct. "Jaquelinde" would be ジャクェリンデ (Jyakwerinde), not ジークリンデ (Jiikurinde). It is more than likely Seiglinde, as the ジーク matchs with the same characters in ジークフリート (Jiikufuriito), which is the katakana spelling of Siegfried. Robtf 10:23, 15 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that Seiglinde made more sense, but then someone changed it to Jaquelinde again, and I wasn't about to keep changing it back. However, now that there's a tangible reason to leave it as Seiglinde, I'll change it back. Haruhi Reference?[edit]

All 5 main voice actors in The_Melancholy_of_Haruhi_Suzumiya_(anime) are cast in this series. I think this is significant but am not sure of the best way to incorporate it into this article. Maybe a "Reception" subsection? 69.114.91.202 06:09, 7 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, it's not uncommon at all for two anime series to share the same set of voice actors considering that VAs/seiyū are usually signed on to certain dubbing companies (talent agencies), so when they get hired for a new show, they would sometimes end up working with the same people. So, unless they make some sort of Haruhi reference in the story itself, it's not really notable. If they both had the same directors and producers, it would have been a different matter. Manga/Anime differences list ?[edit]

I quote from the page:
"Manga
On November 2, 2007, Shueisha began publishing a manga adaptation of the series, which is serialized in the Japanese shōnen manga magazine Jump Square.

Though the story remains to revolve around the lives of Jin Kamishina and Toa, the severity of the Dragon threat is increased in the manga, as Earth has been publicly invaded by these "type D" alien lifeforms. The situations and personalities of most of the characters, especially those of the two protagonists, are also different compared to their anime counterparts."

Emphasis mine. Can we add bits of info about characters, storylines and events taken from the manga and compare them to the anime, or do you guys want to keep this page anime-themed only ?

Well, the known info about about the manga's storyline and events have already been added to the manga section and the notable info about the manga version of the characters have already been added to each of their own bios (so far only Toa and Jin have manga descriptions since the others have yet to make any notable appearances; those who are similar to their anime versions don't really need a new description). For now, I really doubt that a separate section is necessary as it'll just end up as a list for all the differences and wikipedia usually advises to avoid those type of lists. Besides, the manga has only started, so we should give it a bit more time to develop further. Even then, I doubt a separate section is necessary; we could just add "In the manga" in the beginning of a new paragraph in the already existing sections. Either way, the manga just hasn't developed enough to earn it a 'differences' section as the known info can just be integrated into the rest of the article. Changing the Main page[edit]

I can't be the only person to realize someone messed up the main page with about 4 or 5 paragraphs with nonsense about what a Dragonaut is. Every paragraph had sexual refences that had nothing to to with Dragonaut. Is there a problem with the watch system on Wikipedia because only when I went to check some facts did I see it across the whole page? I was never notified of the changes with the watch system or I would have changed it back sooner.
