Crazy Steve

In the article for crazy steve, it says that he was fat as a child. The author of this information says this just because he got mad at his father. Technically, it does not mean he was fat as a child. It just means that he was sent to fat camp. Anyone agree?

The Beginning of the article

I feel the beginning of the article provides to much information on the cast and not enough information on the actual show. This should be replaced with a brief summary of the series and possibly other more relevant information. Eatspie (talk) 04:05, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

Irrelavent Information

It is mentioned early on in the article that both Drake Bell and Josh Peck had played recuring roles on The Amanda Show. Is this information really necessary? The information serves little purpose other than to provide a back story to the comedy duo, keep in mind this article is about Drake & Josh the show, not the actors. Kenneth Hardeman (talk) 11:39, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

Garbage

Anonymous IPs have been dumping massive amounts of garbage onto this article. A few have tried to clean up, but there is still major problems going on here. Can somebody please do a MASSIVE cleanup of this article? Luigi6138 16:27, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

Okay.. But, I seriously think we should have separate articles for our characters! Hannah Montana does! Megan :)

Excessive trivia?

It seems that this article has too much trivia. Even the "cultural references" section sounds trivia-ish. Does anyone agree with me that this article has too much trivia? Luigi6138 21:41, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

I do, and I advocate it's removal as unreferenced trivia. — pd_THOR | =/\= | 08:54, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
I blanked the entire "Cultural references" section. I actually think that, in general, Wikipedia would be wise to lighten up a little bit on WP:TRIVIA, as I think for certain topics a very brief trivia section is relevant and adds value to the encyclopedia -- but the "Cultural references" section in this article wasn't even trivia; it was just a list of random sight gags from the show. I don't mind a brief section talking about other elements of pop culture referencing the subject of a particular article, but it's ludicrous to have a section listing all the times the article's subject made reference to pop culture! --Jaysweet 14:08, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

Obviously, no one bothered to look at your comment because over the past few months, a new "trivia" section was created that just as trashy as the one that Jaysweet blanked previously. I've tried my best to remove most of the irrelevant and I tried to incorporate the remaining trivia into the article itself, as noted in WP:TRIVIA. Here's what I did to the trivia that existed as of May 19:

  • Throughout the seasons, as the camera moves around the outside of the Premiere Theater, another shop in the complex called Schneider's Bakery can be seen. Scheider's Bakery is actually a production company owned by Dan Schneider, the creator of Drake & Josh, Zoey 101, and iCarly. The production company is also the main production company that produces these three shows. - moved to the section on Premiere Theater
  • On Drake and Josh: Really Big Shrimp, movie titles on the top board on the Premiere show movie titles like "Thank You Molaro!" Steve Molaro is also on the production company. "Four Great Seasons!" meant that Drake and Josh had four great seasons of episodes, and that Season 4 would be the final season. "Lil Lisa 22" is referring to Michael Barret's girlfriend Lisa Burkens on Zoey 101. He commonly calls her "Lil Lisa" for short. 22 is unknown. This also may be a reference to creator Dan Schnieder's wife, Lisa Lillien. "February Fourth" most likely was the day that production of Drake and Josh started. The Article for the Episodes of Drake and Josh explains that Drake and Josh started production in early 2002, which probably means January, February, and March. "Robin and Joe" refers to 2 other producers and member of the "Schneider's Bakery" production team, Robin Weiner and Joe Catania. "Now She's Carly" is probably the most obvious one. This refers to Drake & Josh star Miranda Cosgrove stars in her own show now, iCarly, as the lead role, Carly Shay. - moved to the section on Premiere Theater, despite my overwhelming urge to delete completely
  • The layouts for the settings are incorrect. As the camera zooms in on the exterior of the house, the windows on the house where the kitchen set is located are too large, and the bedroom window on the outside is seen and there is a lamp shown in the window. No lamp is shown by the window of Drake and Josh's room. Also, when the camera zooms in on the exterior of the house you see an open porch. However, when they show people on the porch there is a white railing in front of the door. - moved to the section on Drake & Josh's house, despite my overwhelming urge to delete completely
  • In the episode "I Love Sushi" the factory is called "Ball and Vance". Lucille Ball and Vivian Vance played Lucy and Ethel in I Love Lucy, which the title of the episode parodies. Also, in another Drake and Josh episode, Josh says to Drake, "Sorry Lucy, Ethel ain't playing." which is also another reference to I Love Lucy. - moved to new, cleaner cultural references section.
  • In the earlier seasons of Drake & Josh, in their room, the door is facing the camera, whereas in the newer seasons, their door was mysteriously moved to the right. - deleted
  • In the episode "Theater Thug," Josh wears a hippie costume and refers to himself as Antoine. This is a reference to Kenan Thompson's popular character on All That. - moved to new, cleaner cultural references section
  • "Drake & Josh" is perhaps the first Nickelodeon to show a character getting attacked on-screen where an earlier episode with Josh getting punched by a bully for wooing on a girl in school. It is also one of the few episodes that is filmed on location for certain scenes. - deleted; it's unreferenced and hardly notable
  • Two episodes have featured magicians: Blaine Darby, whose name was a parody of David Blaine, and Doheny which is the name Houdini in reverse. - moved to new, cleaner cultural references section
  • Earlier in the show, when drake goes to Mrs. Haffer's house to see his girlfriend, they open the door and show a red foyer. However, in the episode Vicious Tiberius, Drake and Josh take care of Mrs. Haffer's house and there is no foyer, the house's windows are placed differently, etc. - deleted
  • When the front of the Premiere is shown in many of the episodes there are names of movies that spoof real life movies such as "She's The Dude" (She's the Man) "Just My Truck" (Just My Luck) and "There's Something About Gary" (There's Something About Mary). - moved to section on the Premiere Theater
  • There are also references to other products, such as the 'Gamesphere' which is a parody of the Nintendo Gamecube, the Pingtendo GS which is a parody of the Nintendo DS, Dr Fizz parodying Dr Pepper and Moca Cola parodying Coca Cola. - moved to new, cleaner cultural references section
  • In the episode Drew and Jerry, Drake asks for some Mountain Fizz but Josh's dad says that Drew got the last of it. But, when Josh goes to get the rolls out of the oven there is a full bottle of Mountain Fizz right on the counter. - deleted
  • On the episode "The Demonator" the parks name is Mystic Mountain a spoof on "Six Flags Magic Mountain" - moved to new, cleaner cultural references section
  • A few times throughout the series the viewer can notice Drake wearing an "El Toro" shirt. - moved to new, cleaner cultural references section, despite overwhelming urge to delete
  • In the episode when Drake and Josh are making salsa, when the bomb "Megan Parker" (Miranda Cosgrove) put in the salsa, she and her parents are watching the first episode of Zoey 101 - moved to new, cleaner cultural references section
  • At the end of "Really Big Shrimp" Drake and Josh fight over a piece of shrimp. On one of their first episodes together on "The Amanda Show" they fought over a piece of shrimp. There is a reference to this at the end of the movie. - deleted, as it is already included on the Really Big Shrimp article
  • The Central Florida based Deathcore band Dr. Ake and Josh derives their name from the show. - deleted; article for the band does not even exist

Please feel free to delete or revert any of the changes I've made, as I did this editing and purging unilaterally. Thanks, 青い(Aoi) (talk) 06:46, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

There should be an article about each character. For example Crazy Steve and Helen. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.231.161.18 (talk) 20:01, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

I don't know how many times I have to say this, but according to Drake Bell's official biography, if you scroll down, it clearly says "The series just completed its fourth, and final, season on the air, leaving room for Drake to pursue his musical career." I don't know why nobody trusts this, since it's from Drake Bell himself.SonicX000000 01:55, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

In a recent press conference with Nickolodean it said that Drake and Josh will have a fifth and sixth season until it ends. And on a series of television web sites it explains that there will be newer episodes coming this fall.

Yeah... only one new "EPISODE" was annouced as the back to school thing for Teen Nick. The episode was "The Dance Contest". Show proof that there's another 3 episodes plus a new season. Put up a link that brings me to the website where they have a copy of the press conference. I totally agree with SonicX000000.Koolboy24 2007 00:41, 14 November 2007 (UTC)

First off, this girl did appear again in "The Dance Contest". Second, does she really need to be mentioned at all.SonicX000000 20:29, 30 September 2007 (UTC)

3 more episodes????

I don't think there are any more new episodes...some people have said it has been confirmed that there are though...SO.....where has this been confirmed??? Can you give me a link or something? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.207.255.246 (talk) 15:35, 6 October 2007 (UTC)

Please see [1]. Here's a quote from the article: "After four seasons as the eponymous stars of Nickelodeon hit "Drake & Josh," Drake Bell and Josh Peck both have bigger, if different, fish to fry and are moving on." In addition, Bell is quoted: "Ending it is bittersweet. It's like graduating high school. You miss all your friends, but now I can do my music more and other stuff. I can't wait to tour again." So you are right: No more episodes of Drake & Josh. This is proof of this and I hope people will just stop adding this uncited nonsense to this article. 青い(Aoi) (talk) 08:56, 17 November 2007 (UTC)

Drake & Josh in New York

This movie isn't happening. Please see Drake's MySpace Christmas blog.

Both movies I filmed in 2007 will be released on the big screen in March and April.

The two films he is referring to are: "Superhero" (to be released March 28) and "College" (to be released April 11). This means he has *not* filmed Drake & Josh in New York in 2007 as some anonymous users on Wikipedia have claimed. Nor has he made any indication that such a project even exists. Unless someone has a valid source (IMDB is *not* a valid source) proving otherwise, any references to this nonexistent project on Wikipedia will continue to be removed. 青い(Aoi) (talk) 19:43, 31 December 2007 (UTC)

This Drake & Josh in New York thing intrigues me, especially the recent link from the KCA site. Doing some quick online searching, I stumbled upon this old press release from Viacom. Does anyone in the know have any idea if this is related? 青い(Aoi) (talk) 00:27, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
On the other hand, this is from a recent interview with Drake Bell:
Moviesonline: I read online that there was a Drake & Josh in New York movie coming about?
Drake Bell: No, that’s just an online rumour on imdb. We’re just going to do a movie of the week for the network. I thought it would be great to get the whole gang back together, so I called up Josh one day and asked if he’d be into doing another movie and he was. So we called the network and set it up.
Source: Movies Online
So there will probably be another movie, but it won't be this whole New York thing. 青い(Aoi) (talk) 18:18, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

No Amanda show? And what about the mom?

It doesn't mention anywhere that Drake and Josh is a spin off of the Amanda show. Another thing is that the section for Josh says he immitates Jim Carrey, but I don't recall that in any of the episodes. Another thing, why is the section for the mom so small? She was a pivotal part in the show! 75.32.184.246 (talk) 07:28, 20 January 2008 (UTC) therussianlunchlady

D&J is not an AS spinoff, it was created because of the talent of D&J but a spinoff always uses some of the characters from the previous show, none of which are mentioned here. I can't recall Josh immitating Carrey either. And the mom's section is so small because there's not as much information on her as there is on other characters. She could be the star of the show (no, she couldn't, she's really dull) and still have a skimpy section because we know almost zip about her. Tenk you veddy much. --Wack'd Talk to me!Admire my handiwork! 11:47, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

SEPERATE PAGES!

The section for Drake and Josh's characters is getting too long. In most other shows, even the small-time nickelodeon ones, the characters have their own pages. We don't need seperate pages for say, Crazy Steve or Craig and Eric, (although that would be nice), it isn't necessary. However, Drake and Josh were main characters in every single episode, and in a show that lasted for four seasons, and was one of the most popular new millenion shows, and even surpassed The Amanda Show's popularity, which was the show that Drake&Josh was spun off from. THEY NEED THEIR OWN PAGES!!! :) 75.32.184.246 (talk) 07:37, 20 January 2008 (UTC) therussianlunchlady

And your point is? NimiTize 22:09, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
My point is that if the characters for Hannah Montana, they need one for Drake&Josh. 75.39.217.179 (talk) 02:31, 18 February 2008 (UTC)therussianlunchlady
There is a big debate about all this going on now. The separate character pages on show articles that have them will very likely go away except for very exceptional cases. Best to keep things the way they are for now until things get cleared up. Highly likely if you separate them now they would be merged back together again in the future. --NrDg 02:37, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
In my opinion the section providing information on all recurring characters goes on for much too long. Other television show articles have a separate article for a list of characters why shouldn't this one? We should only provide necessary information in the shows' main article, I suggest we create a separate page since there is apparantly no good reason not to. Eatspie (talk) 04:43, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
See intense debate about this issue at WP:Requests for arbitration/Episodes and characters 2 and WT:Television episodes. This is not a simple issue. Separate episodes are supposed to show real world notability just like all other articles to be created. --NrDg 05:13, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

Drake & Josh as a successor to iCarly

People keep adding in iCarly in the "followed_by" box. I dispute this; iCarly is not a sequel or successor to Drake & Josh, though they may (somewhat arguably) take place in the same universe (however, if we go by that logic, iCarly is also related to Zoey 101, which it obviously isn't). I've been persistently removing iCarly from the "followed_by" field, but people keep adding it back in, so I'm posting this comment here on the Talk page. If you dispute my reasoning, please feel free to reply. Thanks, 青い(Aoi) (talk) 04:21, 24 May 2008 (UTC)

Well how is the Amanda Show related to Drake & Josh then? Jammy (talk) 19:32, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
Very good point. I don't think either show should be listed on there. However, if the consensus is otherwise, I'll back off. 青い(Aoi) (talk) 20:31, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
Well that's just the thing, the preceded by and succeeded by options should not be filled in, as they are not needed for these kind of tv shows as none of these progammes are continuous. Jammy (talk) 21:14, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
Supporting Jammy0002's viewpoint. 青い(Aoi) (talk) 22:54, 20 June 2008 (UTC)

iCarly is the successor

I'm one of the people who's done this edit. It's the succesor for the same reason that The Amanda Show is a predecessor - It's what Dan Schneider worked on next. It's The Amanda Show, followed by Drake & Josh, followed by iCarly. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.151.149.239 (talk) 18:25, 20 June 2008 (UTC)

By that reasoning, Camp Lazlo should be listed as the successor as Rocko's Modern Life, even though both shows have completely different premises, characters, etc. It takes more than an executive producer, a couple of actors, and a production company to establish a continuity. 青い(Aoi) (talk) 20:33, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
You're not making a very good argument Aoi, cause you just convinced me that Camp Lazlo should be listed as a successor to Rocko. Pale2hall (talk) —Preceding undated comment was added at 04:37, 6 December 2008 (UTC).

The Series is NOT over!

Drake and Josh may've ended since September 2007, but the series isn't over. First, is the New Movie, Merry Christmas Drake and Josh, then in 2009 is suppose to be three LOST EPISODES to air: Megan's Birthday, The Return of Milo, and Drake's Dad and Josh's Mom. Nickelodeon has it all planned. Don't ask Nickelodeon, they might not say it out of the blue. They want to suprise us when it happens.--Wikialexdx (talk) 01:32, 9 November 2008 (UTC)

According to the press releases by Nickelodeon, all episodes that have been produced have been accounted for. Secondly, Drake Bell has mentioned in interviews that the TV series is over and that the cast members have moved on; the TV movie is a one-off project. If you can provide a reliable source that Nickelodeon intends to air new episodes, add the citation in. Otherwise, a claim based on the instinct that Nickelodeon wants to surprise us when it happens is not good enough for the information to be added to Wikipedia. Complete Rewrite

Does anyone else agree on a complete rewrite of this article. Its badly written and not very informative on the show.People are arguing over a seperate character section,I agree we should have one.In four seasons there have been many characters,so naturally make a new section for all of them. When someone did make a seperate section, someone complained that it was a repeat of the information on the original article, instead of deleting the new article, why didnt you just delete the chracter info in the existing article and put up the link instead?Someone with more expertise than me please fix it.--D3t3ctiv3 (talk) 00:16, 23 December 2008 (UTC)

I'm not sure why the character section in this article was removed; I thought it was fairly well written. I just objected to having a separate character article that just repeated whatever was written here. If there is consensus, the latest version of that section from this article's history should be restored here. 青い(Aoi) (talk) 04:57, 23 December 2008 (UTC)
I think there should be a character section for this show. It was a pretty long running and popular show so it could easily be expanded. I will try to fix it, but I make no promises. I have no idea where to start. You guys have been working on this article for a while, so you should have noticed by now how bad this article is.--D3t3ctiv3 (talk) 03:42, 7 January 2009 (UTC)

Comparison to Kenan and Kel

Looking through the article, I haven't found much to justify this comparison beyond superficial similarities, such as the titles and the fact that both shows star two teenage boys. Drake and Josh was a good show that everyone loved. Extremely funny with outstanding characters, no show on Drake and Josh will ever be as good as Drake and Josh. I want Dan Schneider to create new episodes of this show, everyone I know would watch.

In just a few weeks, over 2,000 girls favorited the quote because they wanted Drake and Josh to return with NEW episodes, not reruns. We will all be disappointed if the show is over forever.

It's surprising because the T.V. christmas movie broke the record and was one of the most watched television movies ever.

BOTTOM LINE: BRING BACK DRAKE AND JOSH NOW!!! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cocorose1234 (talkcontribs) 00:37, 16 January 2011 (UTC)

Influence in Game Dev Tycoon?

The game uses the names of GS and GameSphere as a parody of the Nintendo DS and GameCube, just like this show. Is there any proof of an influence, reference, or is it just a mere coincidence? 83.141.169.221 (talk) 05:38, 29 May 2013 (UTC)

Third film is not confirmed

Please do not post that there is a third Drake & Josh film being released. This has not been confirmed; in fact, if you go to this source, you will see that Josh Peck plainly denies that there is a new Drake & Josh film in the pipeline. Until something is confirmed by the network or producers, mention of a new film should not be added to the article. Thanks, 青い(Aoi) (talk) 11:38, 7 March 2014 (UTC)

For reference, here is the tweet where Drake hinted at a new movie. It looks like a joke to me, so I'm removing the paragraph from the article until there's some kind of official announcement. —Mr. Granger (talk · contribs) 20:06, 26 April 2014 (UTC)

Semi-protect?

The addition of unsourced information by anonymous editors has been going on for months and doesn't seem to be stopping – should we consider semi-protecting the article again? —Granger (talk · contribs) 03:18, 14 September 2014 (UTC)

Appearances in other shows created by Dan Schneider column in cast section

This information seems misplaced to me because although the cast have appeared in other shows by Dan Schneider, they did not reprise their roles from Drake & Josh. I think it's interesting information, but a bit trivial. Any other thoughts appreciated. Melonkelon (talk) 03:49, 2 May 2015 (UTC)

Possible Vandalism in Music section

There are two old edits on 28 December 2011 by 96.231.152.50 that adds the song Lithium Flower (from Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex). It strikes me as vandalism but no one has challenged / reverted it. Can anyone verify it is correct as although it seems highly unlikely it isn't imposible? I do note this user has done nothing else on this page going back to November 2010. WeepingAngel63 (talk) 09:21, 28 March 2017 (UTC)
