List of stations[edit]

Article Link[edit]

This article refers to the construction of the project but makes little mention of the master planning and the Architecture practice (Aedas) behind the design of the Dubai Metro. I am happy to work on something to insert but want to be sure that it is not going to be reversed out. My time is precious so I don't want to waste it. I have included an article link to world architecture news article about the Dubai Metro.

Which line serves which Airport stations?[edit]

The map shows that the Red line serves the airport terminals while the Green line serves the airport free area.

The article text states that the Green line serves the airport terminals while the Red line serves the airport free area.

Is the map correct or is the text?

The map is correct. Actually it was orginally planned that the Green Line would go to Terminals 1 and 3 and the Red Line go to the Airport Free Zone. That has been changed and now the Red Line will go to Rashidiya and the Green Line will go to the Airport Free Zone. I have corrected the information in the article. Thanks for catching it. Length[edit]

Well I gather the Red line was opened last week, but it doesn't say how much of it was opened (it says it's to be finished by February 2010). Does anyone know how long the system is now? For now I'm going to set the "system length" in the infobox to 52.1 km, which is the length given for the Red Line and should probably be somewhat shorter for now... I've been looking for the present length as well, but haven't been able to find it. I do believe that 74.6 kilometers is the correct length for the (full) Red and Green Lines combined though. Jpatokal (talk) 02:44, 15 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Lines[edit]

I think it is appropriate that the Bleu and Purple Line information is removed from the first box of information as both state they run from DXB to JXB (or DWC) but both are shelved for at least 15 years from 2010 onwards. The yellow line idea has also been amalgamated with the tramway projects, the first of which, Al Sufouh is delayed until 2013. --Maulik2005 (talk) 09:44, 1 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Map Indeed[edit]

Having a bigger map would be really helpful and would show which station(s) fit(s) with which suburb. Maybe an official one from the RTA website??

External Link - website reference is incorrect[edit]

Contradiction[edit]

Regarding the contradiction in the Operation section, I would interpret that to mean that we expect 1.2M passengers eventually, but only 140,000 by October 2010. But there is no citation for the 1.2M figure, so it's impossible to tell. Kendall-K1 (talk) 14:32, 11 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

No, 1.2 million would be way too low for a year. They already had almost 7 million in 2009, and that was before "both lines are fully operational." The cn tag is dated June, so if someone doesn't supply a ref soon, we should just remove this. Kendall-K1 (talk) 21:38, 11 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, if that is the case, then it's hard for me to believe that the government expected 1.2 million passengers to travel with the metro on an average day because it's impossible to get 1 million passenger on a daily basis. I would be willing to believe the DMPTD expected 1.2 million but only got half that. Projections for transit ridership are often wildly optimistic. But pre-opening projections are not all that interesting now. Kendall-K1 (talk) 20:40, 12 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Outdated info re Route 2020[edit]

Hi. There is some outdated info regarding that Route 2020 (an Expo 2020 extension to the red line) is still under construction. This is outdated, as I have been to the Route 2020 line extension and 4 of 7 stations have been opened. It was said that the rest of the stations were supposed to be opened closer to the start of Expo, so the info that the Route 2020 is under construction and also the Jabal Ali station page also states that the station is currently closed, since than it has been reopened. Israeli Metro[edit]

Hi, The second paragraph states that Israel has a Metro, this is incorrect. Israel currently has a light rail line in Jerusalem, and a planned Metro in the Tel Aviv Metropolitan Area, but that isn't expect to open until the 2050s. TLDR: Israel does not have a Metro.
