The first sentence of this page is incorrect.

The Ducati website shows that the 998 was offered in 2003, and the "Final Edition" was offered by special order in 2004.

The book Ducati Desmoquattro Superbikes By Ian Falloon on pages 125-126 indicates the 998(and several special models of 998) was produced and sold in 2002. Not sure if that link is resonable to use as a primary source though, or if someone with the actual book should check. Ebernhardson (talk) 16:38, 8 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
