The first sentence of this page is incorrect.
The Ducati website shows that the 998 was offered in 2003, and the "Final Edition" was offered by special order in 2004.

- The book Ducati Desmoquattro Superbikes By Ian Falloon on pages 125-126 indicates the 998(and several special models of 998) was produced and sold in 2002. Not sure if that link is resonable to use as a primary source though, or if someone with the actual book should check. Ebernhardson (talk) 16:38, 8 July 2013 (UTC)
