Lacking a reception section with responses to the TV showings. Atleast something should be available regarding DVD sales. --195.84.66.130 (talk) 05:45, 17 December 2009 (UTC)

Middle name "Tiberious": Was that ever mentioned in any episode OTHER than Nimoy's Star Trek dream episode? Is it really canon? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.36.17.82 (talk) 18:00, 26 January 2009 (UTC)

It is also mentioned in the last episode. --That Don Guy (talk) 20:36, 26 May 2010 (UTC)

I never understood the ending of Duckman, after the marriage thing I thought there would be aother.--Quena@sympatico.ca 05:23, 15 November 2005 (UTC)

I believe it ended with "To Be Continued... ?" which is a strong indication that they either had no intention of following up on it, or didnt know if the series was going to run another season. Oceanhahn 08:40, 16 March 2006 (UTC)
I guess the marriage scene is basically a joke - introducing so many cliffhangers one has to think there has to be a next season. --Abdull 03:15, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

  • Writer Michael Markowitz noted (in Sep 1998): "We never formally planned Part II... and I'll never tell what I personally had in mind. I'm hoping to leave it to my heirs, for the inevitable day when Duckman is revived by future generations. Ah, the Spandex suits they'll wear, the hovercrafts they'll fly!"

He'll never give away what was going to happen..... thanks a lot you idiot. The show is never going to be on again, nobody is going to go on with it, at least give us something on paper to tell us what was going to happen. They probably knew that the show was not going to get another season and they just did that for the hell of it.

It would be nice to break this article into several subjects and headings, such as 'Cast', 'Episodes', and suchlike. I'm not an expert with entertainment articles or such things, but it's just a suggestion. Else if you disagree, remove the //confusing tag I added. Oceanhahn 09:01, 16 March 2006 (UTC)

Cornfed's Name

What exactly is Cornfed's full name? I figured it to be Cornfed Willibard Fivel Pig, but that doesnt seem right because it was Willibald Fivel Cornfed in the episode that reveals his full name. Only it's been forever since I've seen the episode, and my memory is hazy. Ideas, anyone? Oceanhahn 09:46, 17 March 2006 (UTC)

POV

I added a POV tag to this article because going through it, it really seems like a lot of the character descriptions are based on personal opinions. Either that or they're copied from a source affiliated with Duckman. Either way, it should be edited 199.126.137.209 02:34, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

I believe the original research/unverified claims would be better tags then. 24.89.213.42 02:30, 14 September 2006 (UTC)

The PC Game

Will anyone either find or make the Duckman PC game page? It was well made, by Viacom media I think (Paramount gets parody treatment in it, as does Star Trek). Tallaussiebloke 16:04, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

TV Review

I know that about 1994/1995 one of the main UK broadsheet newspapers (either the Guardian or the Independent) said this was the best thing on UK TV.--Davebesag 01:50, 29 October 2006 (UTC)

Years on the air

Can anyone confirm the timeframe for Duckman's first-run broadcasts? I would have sworn that I was introduced to Duckman while I was a grad student at Pitt, and that was '91-'93. I'm thinking that we watched it after SNL. Or am I -- as the kids would say -- buggin'?PurpleChez 15:20, 5 April 2007 (UTC)

It appears as if you were. TV.com says Duckman aired in 1994. Piepants 06:28, 23 September 2007 (UTC)Piepants

EVERYBODY says 1994, and I don't doubt it. But somewhere I picked up the "recollection" of frequently hanging out with my friends, after Saturday Night Live, in their house on Douglas Street in Pittsburgh, watching Duckman, and I'd moved back to Harrisburg by September 1993. Which I think of while I'm currently locked in a feisty discussion with another wikipedian who is insisting that an article I wrote is wrong because it conflicts with his memory of something he saw on Nickelodeon in 1990. PurpleChez (talk) 19:28, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

Info box

Why was the television info box pulled in the last revision? Did I miss something about style, or should it be put back in? Sstucker 01:43, 11 April 2007 (UTC)

"Early days of basic cable?"

What the hell is up with the first entry in the trivia section? Cable TV, as we know it today, has been around since the 1970s; Duckman came out in 1994. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Henryrothschild (talkcontribs) 06:10, 15 May 2007 (UTC).

Yeah. In central PA we had basic cable by the early 70s, if not earlier. We even had rudimentary "premium" services by the mid 70's. Anybody remember Channel 100? PurpleChez 01:02, 29 August 2007 (UTC)

Jump The Shark link?

Someone's clever subtle jab at the show? I can't think of any neutral reason for any particular show having a jumptheshark.com link for it. Worse, the consensus on the website itself is a vast majority towards it never having "jumped the shark", making it even more pointless. Zhekthek 03:19, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

"Jumping the shark" has become almost as overused as "cult film" (just because something didn't do well at the box office but is popular in rentals doesn't make it a cult film!). Some shows deserve the label. It's fitting that it derives from Happy Days, because that thing went on for about a decade longer than it should have. But it is so overused that it has lost a lot of its imagery. PurpleChez (talk) 19:34, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

Broadcast days?

The article says that new episodes aired on Saturdays, but I am pretty sure some episodes premiered immediately after Monday Night RAW broadcasts. --That Don Guy (talk) 20:36, 26 May 2010 (UTC)

Guest Stars

There is a massive list of Guest Stars that are currently on the page. I've added a reference link for the full list from TV.com [1], but the question I want to raise is if a list of this magnitude works as-is, or should it be limited down to a smaller list of featured stars? Additionally, should the episode appearances be noted as well? I can't condone a full removal of the list at this point as a show that was on for 4 years having nearly 300 Guest Stars is quite a feat, especially compared to contemporaries such as The Simpsons, Futurama, and Family Guy. Main characters

§ Plot lists nine, or maybe ten, main characters. Does the show really have that many? One of them is stated to only be in “several episodes,” which makes me wonder about the list. —151.132.206.250 (talk) 15:02, 19 August 2020 (UTC)

I’ve moved two of these characters down a paragraph as “recurring.” Please review. —151.132.206.250 (talk) 14:38, 3 September 2020 (UTC)

Guest stars

The section § Guest stars/additional voices appears to violate WP:IINFO as just a massive list. I removed it as such, but it was reverted without rationale. Thoughts? —151.132.206.250 (talk) 18:03, 16 September 2020 (UTC)

needs a MAJOR cleanup...

... given the intro section and the plot section are almost identical. I myself don't know enough about the show to be able to correct it.Robbmonster (talk) 10:24, 13 June 2021 (UTC)

Comic book history

The claim that Duckman is based on the characters in the Duckman one-shot 1990 comic book overlooks the fact that Duckman himself appeared earlier in stories in the anthology Dark Horse Presents, starting with issue 22 (1988). --Nat Gertler (talk) 13:45, 6 July 2021 (UTC)
