Cultural bias[edit]

This article has a lot of cultural bias. For example its says that Duncan had relationships with women and then did nothing to support the children. This is first not sourced. Secondly, it does not reflect the Inuit society beliefs that were prevalent the time. In the book that is mentioned, it refers to how Duncan did support at least one child and that it was not seen as his preserve, but that of the mother and her husband. In the book it refers to how he supported the 2 as a couple in what westerners might call a ménage-à-trois in a reciprocal mutual arrangement.
