Merging?[edit]

Has there been any discussion to merge this into a new article? If so, it should have been mentioned on this talk page. Generally, all railway stations, whether open or not, seem to be notable enough to have their own articles. — Tivedshambo _(t/c) 09:43, 10 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for not discussing this first. I thought that since all the information about the actual station fits into a small paragraph, it is more helpful to readers to have everything about the line in one article. One advantage of having separate articles is that when there is a single {{coord}}, in the page header, the article will appear as a link in websites like Google Maps. When they are just displayed in-line, this does not work. I can see your point about having the information in a single article, but I think a link to the main article will encourage further expansion more than a single paragraph. — Tivedshambo _(t/c) 10:06, 10 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

That is an interesting point about Google Maps. Although structuring the articles just to suit them seems to be a case the tail wagging the dog. Perhaps one day they will use inline coordinates as well, and that issue will go away. JonH (talk) 21:51, 10 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
