The last section of this article needs to be removed. It is 100% some biased fan's opinion with no verifiable or reliable source. The NHL did not admit any such things and this is an example of some fan using Wikipedia as a way to vent. This needs to be removed because it hurts the integrity of Wikipedia and is another example of abuse of this wonderful website by people.

"Byfuglien racks up most his offense standing in the crease of the opposing teams net. His secret weapon is bumping goalies in the head with his backside, while his teammates knock it in the net. As seen in game 3, he sometimes manages to use his body weight to completely push the goaltender into the net - as well as the puck - while avoiding the referee radar. The NHL themselves have admitted that they dropped the ball in game 3, in reference to Byfugliens style of play, crashing into the goaltender"

The May 7, 2010 revision (addition of the last paragraph in the article) by Amiro22 is obvious POV and should be removed in its entirety. It's obvious opinion by a butt-hurt Canucks fan.

I have removed the paragraph, as it is unsourced and alleges foul play on Byfuglien's part, a violation of our biographies of living persons policy. While you may disagree with their edits, please refrain from making personal or ad hominem comments, such as you did with the phrase "obvious opinion by a butt-hurt Canucks fan". Time in Chicago[edit]

I think the problem is the sheer amount of vandalism he gets. When the furor dies down, I think people will actually start contributing. He definitely has a lot of articles written about him now, so there's no shortage of sources. I believe (I don't know if this is actually true) that a quality article will bring less vandalism, much like how people are inclined to keep clean places clean but aren't afraid to throw another piece of litter on the pile. There was endless media coverage of how Buf was a goal machine in the 2010 playoffs, including a Sports Illustrated feature on May 31, 2010, "Large and In Charge." He led the Cup winners with 11 playoff goals, including 4 or 5 game-winners, and he knocked Blackhawks nemesis (and great player) Pronger on his ass, as pictured in Sports Illustrated on June 14, 2010. His breakout success on a Cup-winner is a big part of his story and it belongs in ANY story of Buf's career. Jrgilb (talk) 03:31, 14 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Place of Birth[edit]

There are multiple prominent sources that list Byfuglien's place of birth as Roseau. These include NHL.com, hockeydb.com, USA Hockey. However, I have found some articles that state Byfuglien was born in Minneapolis and moved to Roseau. These include A Yahoo! sports article about his arrest, His ESPN Profile, and A Pioneer Press Article about his arrest. I feel these are all Reliable sources. Any thoughts? Can anyone find more sources to verify he was born in Minneapolis. Family[edit]

Yes, and perhaps understood, but my point is that 
(last name = Byfuglien) + (played hockey) + (from Roseau) ≠ (member of Dustin B's family)
unless a reliable source clearly states so (as improbable as it is, given the unusual name, that they would be unrelated). If the article merely notes that another hockey player shares Dustin's last name without clearly identifying a familial relationship, it would be synthesis to call them family. General Ization is correct here. You would need a reliable source that explicitly states the other players named Byfuglien are actually Dustin's relatives. Take Joe Thornton and Shawn Thornton - the two have the same surname but are not related. (Oddly, Scott Thornton is related Joe).
