Untitled[edit]

Dystopia was crust band formed in 1991 in Orange County, CA by Dan Kaufman and Matt Parillo (Mauz) in 1992 who were both previously in a band called Mindrot. Dino Sommese (drummer) and Todd Kiessling (bassist) also joined who were both previously in bands such as Confrontation and Carcinogen. Although they are a crust band, they are heavily influenced by different styles of music such as sludge, doom, and punk. They released splits with bands such as: Grief, Suffering Luna, Skaven, and Embittered. Their first LP was Human=Garbage (1994). It was followed up by The Aftermath (1999). Both albums contain some of the songs from their splits with the bands mentioned above. In the mid-nineties, members from Dystopia moved from Orange County, CA to Oakland, CA. Matt Parillo currently runs Life is Abuse records (Brainoil, Asunder, Ludicra, Tarantula Hawk, etc.) in Oakland, CA. Members of Dystopia have been in or still are in the following bands: Mange, John the Baker and the Malnourished, Asunder, Nigel Pepper Cock, Medication Time, and Putrefaction. It has been stated on the official Dystopia Myspace page that they are releasing a new album in 2006 which will be followed up by a tour.

cutbacks[edit]

Hmm, what was the benefit to cutting away about half the content...? And I think the bolded title is usually supposed to be pretty close to the start of the article.. Dan Carkner 15:50, 12 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
