Eóganán is a diminutive of Eógan. The Pictish form is not a diminutive; the Gaelic version is simply Eógan. You are correct though that AU gives the form Eóganán - Calgacus 22:23, 23 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

UE again?[edit]

Replacing Eogan with Uen, that'll be WP:UE again I suppose. The bad news is that the article has always been misnamed. It should be either two u's or one w: Uuen or Wen, the presumed Pictish version of Eógan. Angus McLellan (Talk) 01:28, 29 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

An article titled "Uen" but not about a Uen? The structuring of early medieval Scottish/Pictish history at Wikipedia has some serious kinks that need working out. Pictish rulers are a complete disaster. I tried to start a discussion of a few times, the silence was deafening. "Use English" is of little relevance with these guys in any case.
