did this show have anything to do with Michael Jackson?[edit]

No: EFX had nothing to do with Michael Jackson. The show was a celebration of the human imagination and featured four acts that centered around Merlin and King Arthur, circus master P.T. Barnum, illusionist Harry Houdini, and author H.G. Wells' story The Time Machine. The lead roles were played by Michael Crawford (1995-1996), David Cassidy (1997-1999), Tommy Tune (1999-2000), and Rick Springfield (2001-2002). CrStickel (talk) 20:37, 25 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Jessie's Girl[edit]

I saw EFX with Rick Springfield Thanksgiving weekend 2001 and can state for a fact that Jessie's Girl was not only added to the show, but was the high point of the show.--66.195.65.230 (talk) 21:42, 6 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Rick only sang a few lines of "Jessie's Girl" acoustically during the "audience-plant-chit-chat-break," but the only Rick hit that was actually performed fully and orchestrally within the context of the show was "Human Touch" because it related to the intergallactic sequence. I saw the show about 12 times periodically throughout 2001 and 2002 and I can definitely confirm this. Lipsynching/Canned Vocals[edit]

To whoever keeps changing the EFX wiki to say that young King Arthur's vocals were dubbed by someone else: PLEASE STOP. I have listed the various actors in the role CORRECTLY according to official CD booklets and programme/playbill information. I have found no official information stating that a Ginny ever sang young King Arthur's vocals. I am always grateful for any ACCURATE information changes to this wiki, but please CITE your information so it can be verified; ESPECIALLY if there's a claim of vocal dubbing, since it's a VERY serious claim to make. King Arthur[edit]

In response to constant changes to the article regarding the role of Young King Arthur, I have added a note in the Michael Crawford Version>Soundtrack section highlighting the debate about who actually sang the vocals for the character. It's important to note, however, that it is CONFIRMED by both the show programme and the soundtrack that the role was ACTED/PERFORMED by Lisa Geist. Only the singing voice is in question; not the actress. Hopefully this will help stop the erroneous changes to the cast list that have been happening by anonymous Wikipedia users. References and Sources[edit]

To briefly address the fact that the EFX article has been tagged for 'multiple issues,' I am aware that there need to be cited sources; I believe heavily in citing references. EFX was extremely specific to Las Vegas, and there was very little information about it printed outside of the city at the time it opened. The majority of the information that was released outside of Las Vegas was provided by Michael Crawford's exclusive fan club in the monthly newsletter, and actually included a lot of details about the show's specs and backstage workings. Unfortunately, my copies of the newsletters disappeared due to moving multiple times over the course of several years, and I have yet to find them. I'm constantly working to retrieve as many sources as I can find to list in this article, but it is a slow, difficult process. Any and all help is always greatly appreciated in collecting sources and references. I've followed the show since it first opened; it means a lot to me, and I want the wiki article to be as accurate as possible. The article is fine. Yes, many sources, especially related to Las Vegas, are hard to come by. Wikipedia is flawed, extremely, in this regard. But it is policy, and until we start a variety of sci-fi oriented methods of memory access, like estimating energy placement, recording people's brains, etc., we have what we have. 98.160.232.161 (talk) 17:44, 26 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
