Blacklisted link?[edit]

This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered.

I am the subject of this article and I noticed several weeks ago that there is a notice at the top citing the article as containing "blacklisted links". Further investigation revealed that the offending link was too an article that I had written on the Helium web site several years ago.

From time to time since this Wikipedia page first appeared (although I am NOT the author of the article) I have made corrections to the information here in the interest of accuracy - so I decided to go in and eliminate the offending link, assuming that this would take care of the problem.

It has been several weeks since the link was taken down, and yet the notice is still there at the top of the page. Is there something that can be done about this?

Note: I have reformatted this request for ease of reading but did not modify the text.

As far as I can tell, this request was indirectly implemented by the change noted below. I am flagging it as answered just to clear it from the backlog; I did not make any changes to the article. Ivanvector (talk) 17:58, 5 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Blacklisted Links Found on the Main Page[edit]

Cyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request it's removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.
