February 1974 changes and "gain" status[edit]

the change figures for the seat at the February 1974 United Kingdom general election compared with the result at the 1974 United Kingdom general election and describing the seat as a Conservative Gain in February 1974 are to my mind misleading as the 1970 Dunbartonshire East had very different boundaries from its East Dunbartonshire successor as the article makes clear. A good chunk of the old seat which was most favourable to Labour went into the new Central Dunbartonshire seat in 1974 - most significantly Clydebank, with Dunbartonshire East's MP Hugh McCartney moving to Central Dunbartonshire which he easily won. In reality the Conservatives would almost certainly have won the seat in 1970 had it been fought on the post 1974 boundaries, while had the old boundaries been in place in 1974 there is little doubt the seat would have returned a Labour MP. I would therefore suggest no change figures being included and the seat being described as a Conservative Win rather than a gain, with a note indicating that boundary changes make comparison difficult. I am waiting for a double hip operation can you advise on the waiting list? I have been told 2/3 years.. is anyone checking this list to see whether there really is a list this long?
