View of Delft[edit]
Mike Dillon, you've added a link to Vermeer's View of Delft. I believe this link is both irrelevant and confusing, because the Eastern Gate is definitely not in Vermeer's painting. View of Delft was painted at the location of present day's Hooikade and the city gate visible is the Rotterdammer Gate, which was demolished in the nineteenth century (this can be easily verified from the position of the churches and some other still remaining towers in the painting).
I'm planning to remove the link in a few days time. Please state here if you object (and why).

- I didn't add the link to the View of Delft article. I did add the link to the image, assuming that the text was correct to link to the article about Vermeer's painting. Feel free to remove all mention of View of Delft if you know it to be incorrect. I certainly won't vouch for it. Mike Dillon 01:13, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
